Posted February 24, 20169 yr Okay so my laptop's charger isn't charging up my laptop now for some reason. Does laptop computers have a limited amount of charges? And if so, where can I get a new battery charger?
February 24, 20169 yr Call your local best buy. Also no there are no "limited charges" there is either something wrong with your laptop battery or your charger. Or both
February 24, 20169 yr Well, you can overcharge a battery if you leave it charging too much longer than it needs to. I know that the 3DS battery can only last about 500 charges (I read that when I got my 3DS in the mail) so idk, it may be overcharged or something.

Well I have always kept it on the charger even when the battery was full. So could this be why?
February 24, 20169 yr I think it's most likely the charger itself. That happened to my old laptop all the time. I say trying a new charger and then if it doesn't work return the new charger. It means that it's your battery. Best Buy is great at fixing stuff so ask them! (I know since I work there)

I'll give my Best Buy storeva call this weekend since you said they could fix it. But I'm also thinking about buying a completely new laptop since my current one is kkind of falling apart physically. Is this a good idea as well? Also are laptop batteries cheap or expensve to purchase? Edited February 24, 20169 yr by Tails

Also are laptop batteries cheap or expensve to purchase?I believe batteries are fairly expensive. (You'll have to see for yourself sorry)If your laptop already sucks, I think you'd be good in getting a new one. It depends how old your laptop is. My old Pavilion I had since 2009 or 2010 so I really needed one. That's why I got the laptop I have now which is an HP Envy.If your laptop works fine enough, Best Buy sells cheap universal chargers that you could try. Then you could wait until Black Friday this year to get a new one because some laptops go on insane sales. (The one j got was 250$ off)It depends really on what you want to do. I say in the end getting a new one won't be bad. It also depends on what you'll be using it for. There's cheap ones that are 100$ but others that are like 2000$

Well I do have this card that a Best Buy employee gave me a few months ago. He said the card has about $500 in it but if I use it I'll have to pay off the money for the laptop that I use. He said I'd have to give them the money once a month until everything is paid off. Should I try that?
February 24, 20169 yr I had this problem a few months ago and it was the charger. It could be the battery, though.

I payed for my laptop straight up, so you could do that as well.

I alsk have about $300 already saved up for a new laptop too. So would you say that I am about good to go to buy a new laptop from BestBuy? Because I won't buy a super expensive one. But I want one that has good specs and has a reasonable price for my capture card so I can continue uploading YouTube videos.

If you want ask someone in the store for more information on the card. There's a wide variety of laptops in the store so you could even ask a sales floor rep for their opinion. An i5 or i7 processor will work great for you. I have an i5 and games like Minecraft/Subnautica runs fine. If anything, you can return it I believe if you don't like the laptop. If anything, just make sure you ask them just to make sure. Having more than one opinion helps greatly~!

Just curious.i5 and i7 are the processor. i5 and i7 Intel core. My i5 Intel Core processor runs fine. i7 are more expensive but your laptop will be great. You also want good memory. Something like 1T Hardrive would be more than enough. A sales rep will explain it better.

I'm trying to buy a laptop that is at least $400.00 or $500.00 Edited February 24, 20169 yr by Tails
February 25, 20169 yr Ah okay. What about new laptops. Got any recommendations for new laptops that are not super expensive? I'm trying to buy a laptop that is at least $400.00 or $500.00I bought a HP Envy which is touch screen. It was 550$ because of the Black Friday deal. I recommend HP laptops but the brand is really personal preference.
February 25, 20169 yr I think it's the charger, if it is not charging. Sometimes the cords and connectors can get damaged and you just have to replace them. The battery might be going if it isn't holding a charge, but personally I would go the route of replacing the charger and see how that goes first. While batteries are a little on the expensive side I have replaced mine in my laptop a few years ago and it was definitely worth the investment! Again, depends on the type of laptop you have and how old it is, of course.
February 25, 20169 yr Well, it all depends! I mean, how old is that charger? It could be that long years of service are finally piling up on the charger, so maybe that's why its acting faulty! Or maybe it could just be a malfunction! Go talk to a computer expert, and he/she will tell you what's up! Good luck!
February 26, 20169 yr I'm having an issue like that as well, but in my case it's the charger that is having a bad connection to the socket
March 1, 20169 yr No, laptops don't have a limited number of charges, your charger probably needs replacing. It's most likely either been damaged or fell victim to old age. Hopefully we're not talking about a Macbook charger, the Apple store wants $80 for those and when purchasing anywhere else you run the risk of a knock off which can overheat. Even the authentic ones can overheat which is a fire hazard that can destroy your hard drive. You'd know if this was happening because it'll cause a buzzing noise when wearing headphones/ear buds. I had a Macbook charger problem myself, in case that wasn't clear. PC chargers should be less pricey but it depends on the type of laptop. I know my mother once bought an HP laptop charger replacement for $30-$40 bucks but that was years ago. Good Luck.
