I finally got around to playing KH1FM, & I went to Hollow Bastion for the 2nd trip, got the Divine Rose Keyblade from Belle & then the Oblivion keyblade right after, I was excited to use the Oblivion, & then I saw that the Oblivion has 11 Strength & takes away 1 MP, but the Divine Rose has 13 Strength and no MP reward or penalty, which even if you never get the Divine Rose, you would be better off with the Olympia, Oathkeeper, or the Lionheart. It sucks because I love the Oblivion

That was always the case with KH1 Oblivion.

It just gets outclassed by Divine Rose in Final Mix.

Olympia has +1 Strength in Final Mix over its original counterpart. However, besides Oblivion, Oatkeeper and Lionheart were also unchanged, from what I can find.

Yeah, that's one of the things I hated about KHFM. They made Oblivion pretty much worthless since by the time you obtain it there's better keychains already in your possession. :/

Peace!

I know, that's what I'm saying, It got ruined in Final Mix.

I know right, huge bummer.

But then what you really mean is that they ruined Rubling Rose then. Oblivion never got changed in the slightest, you're only reacting to the indirect result of an unrelated change. It's like being upset that the grass isn't that green anymore because the sun's shift in direct casts a tree's shadow over it. It's kind of unnecessary. Oblivion is just fine like it always has been, and Rumbling Rose simply has more emphasis in strength to match it's affiliation with the Beast. That's all.

Honestly, that never bothered me much!  I just love how cool the Oblivion's design is!  Yeah, it's stats are changed a bit, but I still love Oblivion either way! :3

Well Oblivion looks dope and Divine Rose looks like someone spewed all over an ice cream cone. Of course Oblivion does have much longer reach, and while that may seem insignificant, I've always found the longer keyblades in KH1 to be the easiest to use. Also, Oblivion deals stronger critical blows than Divine Rose, although Divine Rose triggers more critical hits.

Also, despite what people are saying, Oblivion was actually nerfed, but the stats that were changed just aren't shown in the game. It's critical bonus went down from +4 to +2.

No, I think I know what I meant, they ruined the Oblivion by making the some of the keyblades around it better, so it's not the strongest keyblade you have when you get it, which sucks.

Second, I'm sorry to say but Oblivion really is no different, only one Keyblade was changed. The thing here is literally that something else changed and that indirectly means that something that was untouched now should be seen with a lesser value. Just because a few characters other than your main in Smash are buffed doesn't mean your main is any weaker. And yet the way you are going about this, just because one Keyblade is stronger by comparison, it means that they "ruined" Oblivion in some way, when in reality it is the same exact weapon as it was in the original version of the game. It didn't get weaker, something else just got stronger.

Really does it even matter if it's not the most powerful Keyblade in the game anyway? I mean Ultimate Weapon is still in there, that was always going to outclass it anyway. If anything I think it matters more that Oblivion is always comparatively stronger than Oathkeeper, at the very least you keep that whole duality thing. Is just having Oblivion and having it be stronger than your base Key really not enough for you, I mean it's still stronger than most of the other Keyblades, I still used it and saw no issues whatsoever. If you level up your strength high enough it's really just a matter aesthetic taste when it comes down to the Keyblade you use, those stat boosts don't matter too much when you're strong enough to make up the difference. At least to me anyway. I mean, if you really liked Oblivion that much and though it should have stayed at the top (or near the top, because Ultimate), then I guess I'm sorry things went the way they did, but as far as I'm concerned it isn't any less awesome that it already was, I'd still use it over Rumbling Rose any day. If anything it still gets more reach and it's got that whole dark vibe, I think that more than makes up for it.

I guess what I'm saying is that one measly little stat is ok to be annoyed with but it's not worth getting worked up over, and it's certainly not worth snipping at other people for thinking differently.

I just said that because of the changes to the keyblades around it, the Divine Rose has +13 Strength & No MP Penalty, and in KH1 the Oathkeeper was what you used for using more magic until you you got the Ultima, and the Oblivion was what you used for more physical attacking ultil you got the Ultima, but it really isn't worth using anymore in KH1FM since if you want to use more Magic you use Oathkeeper & if you want to be more physical then you would want to use the Divine Rose because its +13 Strength while Oblivion is +11 and -1MP, and "A Heartless Nobody" is right, Oblivion's Critical Bonus got cut from +4 to +2 in KH1FM.

Well in that case I find the crit decrease worth being annoyed at, but everything else I don't care that much about one way or another. Just because you don't "need" to use Oblivion that much anymore doesn't mean that you don't have to if you don't want to. I know guys who can play the whole game using only the Kingdom Key and they have no problem with it. I guess it just all depends on what your priorities are, but for me, as much as it's a bit of a shame that it got debuffed in some small way, it's still not enough for me to really see it as any less useful. I guess I just don't choose to get that hung up over details like that. Graphical details on the other hand, hooohohooo boy, you don't want to be around for that rant, trust me (that damn BBS Station of Awakening still haunts me... xP ).
