Posted March 23, 20169 yr I prefer 2d anime over 3d anime because I'm used to looking at that kind of detail. 3d anime honestly looks weird and somewhat out of place.
March 23, 20169 yr well there's not that many 3D anime. the only 3D anime that comes to mind are Appleseed XIII, SD Gundam Force (which is my favorite), and the most recent, and current on right now, Ajin. and to me, Ajin is pretty good.
March 23, 20169 yr Most CG anime are absolutely horrible to watch. Despite how good Ajin is, it's so difficult to watch it and feel invested in it when the animation is so choppy.
March 23, 20169 yr 2D anime because I love hand-drawn better than CG. Even though I like CG animation but I prefer hand-drawn animation.
March 24, 20169 yr I've never seen any 3D anime before, and tbh I have no desire to. I'm perfectly happy with old fashioned 2D!
March 24, 20169 yr As of right now, the CG animators in Japan's industry are woefully under-equipped, be it technologically, financially, or skill sets. Ajin as a recent example is hard to watch. Certain anime have come close to seamlessly integrating the two dimensions together, but it's usually for little things, like cars or background characters. The best example that I've watched so far to having a nice blend of CG and hand drawn is Kantai Collection. It's not that great in other aspects, but I can at least commend how its CG is not very jarring compared to other anime. Edited March 24, 20169 yr by Kyouma-Blade
March 28, 20169 yr I love 2D anime the most because of the way the characters and environments and the like are drawn! It's unparalleled! I just love the attention to detail! But, if there's a 3D anime that I like, I'll watch it too! But, I prefer the 2D art style, ya know?
