You know...I've been reading comments on YouTube videos and opinions on Re:coded. Everyone seems to hate it, but I honestly liked it (at least a lot more than Days). I thought the gameplay was much more solid and enjoyable. And even if the story was weak, the game more than made up for it with the minigames and dungeon-like "breach" sequences.

That's why I made this thread: if you hate Re:coded, why? Also, if you like Re:coded, you could say why as well. I'm curious.

I liked KH:coded, but it had issues: Wonderland's new hedge maze bullcrappery was a pain in the ass, the boss fights suddenly becoming 2D side scrollers sucked, the reset pissed me off the first time I played it, because nearly the whole game before it just becomes "lol, ok"... but it has some good points to it.

The idea of fixing the journal data from KH 1, and going back to older worlds (Minus Deep Jungle and Halloween Town, because copyright's a butthole) is interesting enough, but seems more like a comic book/manga spin off than a game plot. The bullcrappery of the Castle Oblivion stages got on my nerves, and Maleficent just kinda derps around doing nothing major for the story.

The fact it started as a cellphone game painfully shows.

The battle system is decent, though, and leveling up the keyblades was a decent addition.

Long post short, it was decent, but highly flawed.

I'd comment on the 2.5 cutscenes, but I never bothered to watch them.

It's not that I hate it, it's just that I found it a little redundant. I really don't see the point of playing through Sora's first journey again. I mean we already did that in CoM. I will admit that the story is important. However I got all I needed from watching the cutscenes and a let's play.

Use to also dislike it, but grew appreciation from it. Have to go under the surface. Has the best combat for handhelds, and I've grown to like the story. It's about past endeavors and learning about them, and some people don't immediately pick them up. Data Roxas is a great guide through the story. I like this game better than DDD and BBS.

I think it's a game that grows more merit, and adds seasoning the second/third time through playing it.

This really comes down to why you play the Kingdom Hearts series. Some people play it for the gameplay, but others like me play it purely for the story. What bothers me about the game is that it's completely unnecessary and adds nothing to the overall story. This entire game could have been avoided and they could have said "King Mickey discovered some interesting information in Jiminy's Journal left behind by Namine etc and that's why he wrote the letter to Sora." Plus the hidden information in Jiminy's journal was something everyone already knew from the bbs secret ending anyway.

I don't like it because its very boring especially the movie in kh 2.5 and the story is pointless.
