Here's my idea

All the foretellers are not reincarnations of current protagonists, or only a couple are, namely TAV.

Ephermera and Skuld are the past lives of Riku and Kairi, Or Sora and Kairi.

I would rather say Riku and Kairi though, since ''Sora not being, ever been special'' works with this, but then again, we don't know enough about Ephermera, and right now, and he does seem pretty ordinary, he wields a keyblade, but so did everyone at this time.

You might think Ephermera having silver hair works better for Riku, in Nomuras artwork of him however, he has a smaller ''cute'' face, like Soras, and Skluds face looks much like Kairi's. This could just be his art style, but in his final fantasy and other works it's clear he draws faces differently for each character, which makes me think it could be intentional. Is it his way of drawing young characters, or is he trying to tell us something? or am I looking to deep into it, who knows. Regardless, none of this actually helps or disregards the theory, because you do not need to look the same in a past life

This is true for the real life belief and the version present in fantasy tales

Take Adventure Time as an example:

This is Finn.

Finn is the hero of the story in AT and the main character, he's a young teenage boy. Later on in the series we find out in an episode that he had a number of past lives, one of his past lives was this:

Posted Image

Shoko, a girl with green skin, black hair, etc. She had similarities in her life and personality but appearance-wise looked nothing like Finn.

My point here is that appearance doesn't matter, not just to to the original concept, but in fantasy stories either.

It gives the creators an opportunity to make the character mysterious, as well. So, there's no reason, right now anyway, why they can't be the past lives of either Riku and Kairi, or Sora and Kairi. Plus, Nomura could make a connection to Xion this way, saying through the Kairi connection this is another reason xion has black hair, and not just flipped Kairi hair, like a mirror would do. You know how he loves dem retcons

What made me think of this theory? and like the original one? How is this even possible bruh?

Kairi's grandma says that when the world was lost to darkness, the light from the hearts of children rebuilt it. In other worlds, people themselves didn't survive, but their hearts did and became a part of the new world.

I still say the designs behind the Foretellers is too accurate for only TAV to be reincarnations. The philosophy of past lives in Adventure Time doesn't necessarily mean Nomura plays it the same way. Unicornus and Ava fit too perfectly as Riku and Kairi. Why else would they all be designed that way if not for some connection to the modern-day heroes? Not to mention, but just because they share outfit color schemes doesn't mean they all 'look' the same beyond that. For example, the Anguis Foreteller could look entirely different from Aqua or Unicornus different from Riku.

Or, the hoods signify that they do look the same and Nomura doesn't want to spoil that yet. idk Ephemera and Skuld could also just be OCs that Nomura threw in just because.

That's fair and I agree, I've thought the same thing about the hoods, too. This is just an idea I had, I'm not saying scrap the previous theory in favor of it :P

while it's true that for reincarnation to be a thing you don't have to look like your past self, i feel like KH is a series that really banks on having players notice the similarities between characters to establish connections. Look at Terranort and Ansem and Xemnas. Or any other Nobodies that we've seen as their whole selves.

As a Princess of Heart, Kairi doesn't have a past life prior to the Keyblade War, as her heart, like those of the other Princesses, was part of the x-blade. At least it's strongly hinted that they are by the Secret Ending of 3D.

Also, in KH, "The heart shapes the vessel", this is why Vanitas looks like Sora, (Vanitas is half of Ven's heart and Sora filled in the half Vanitas took with him) Nobodies tent to look nearly identical to their original selves, and Xehanort's vessels slowly take on his physical traits (namely the tan skin, yellow/orange eyes, pointed ears and sometimes silver hair). Since the heart works like the soul in most belief systems IRL, it would be the heart that is reincarnated and, as stated above "the heart shapes the vessel" so a past life would look very similar to the current incarnation of a person because it's the same heart in a different vessel.

Her heart could of been of someone else before becoming part of the x blade because that happened later

No it didn't, the x-Blade was always around. It was around long before there where even any Keyblade weilders. It existed from the beginning, just like Kingdom Hearts, it wasn't forged like Xehanort is tryign to do.

Well, I still think it's a possibility ava became kairi. But I respect your opinion

The only way that could be possible is if, rather than becomiong the hearts of the PoH, the light from teh x-blade went into them, merging with the hearts and "purifying" them of any darkness, which I admit is a possibility.

There's another way that's possible which follows a theory I saw. Which is where Kairi isn't a reincarnation of Ava but more like the other way around. http://kh13.com/forum/topic/96756-the-6th-foreteller-was-good-theory/
