Suggestion: manually save posts

Posted

I have a suggestion relating to posts and the auto save. I must admit myself, the auto save is rather unreliable. So I think it would be nice if we could manually save whatever we wrote for a post and when we want to post it later, we could open back up all the content. We could probably be allowed to save up to three posts we have yet to submit on threads. I have seen the Adobe stuff on my browser crash and when I press reload, the auto save content last saved a while ago. All the writing I did was mostly, if not completely, gone so maybe we could manually save the data ourselves. Go idea or bad idea or can't happen just yet?

I copy the text and paste it on a note, so this is kind of useless for me xD

Exactly. Plus IMHO I think the autosave works pretty well already.

Besides I am not sure why it would be necessary to save up to three posts to post later anyways?

Yeah just like Xam said, when I have a post that I wanna post later, or that is quite long (like in a PM) and I have no time to finish it I just copy and paste it on a note.

So I don't think it's necessary that posts can be saved on this site.

Eh, just a suggestion. I was just wondering and thinking it could be a convenience so you don't have to copy and paste anything.

It sounds convenient. However, why limit it to three?

I never used the Auto Save feature, when it's a really long post, I just copy it down to the Notepad, simple as that xD

I've had issues with the autosave feature as well.  Normally it's not a big deal, but when it is a long post or in the roleplay section it is a *huge* setback for the browser to crash and lose all of your progress because autosave didn't do its job for over fifteen minutes.  Normally it works, though, so I can't complain too heavily.  I've learned if it's a long post to copy and paste it into a more reliable source like Word or an e-mail document, so I don't really know if saving manually would be necessary.  Plus a lot of us don't think to save, so I think saving automatically is going to be more effective than saving manually in the long scheme of things.
