Broly is my favourite character in Dragon Ball Z. He's always my main in the games.

I guess you can already expect my reaction when I read this.

I completely agree with everything xDexcept that he really is strong, maybe not stronger than the last form Cell has, but he is stronger than most enemies, which is why he is compared to enemies such as Gogeta in the opening of the games and stuff like that

I don't even know why I like him so much, but let's be honest, no character in the Dragon Ball Z (unlike the first series, I don't know about Super) is very well developed. Freezer just wanted to destroy planets because he could and get the dragon balls to be immortal (just like Vegeta xD), Cell just wanted to destroy and reach his final form to be perfect, maybe Babidi had a better reason to be how he was, I can't really remember much from that arc :/

Anyways, I do agree, Broly is the least developed and most stupid character in Dragon Ball, but I'm good at using him in the games XDD

but dem muscles

broly isn't even all that strong, look at his first appearance and how his power grew so much in such a short amount of time that he had to expel it in a form of huge explosive ki blast, he has a definitive cap to his power that if it reaches said cap he has to expel the excess power, broly can't train since he is essentially the hulk and is fueled by pure rage so his body will never be able to accommodate the ki of LSSJ. He is pure brute force, From cell arc onwards broly is the lowest tier of those with saiyan Dna in terms of potential. Yet the only reason he is a threat in the second and third movie is because of plot induced stupidity or a LSSJ zenkai is astronomically higher than a regular, but since no one touches on this, it's stupid plot.

I only watched the first film and oly once, so don't expect me to remember a lot xD Anyways, in that film he didn't even go all out. As said in the picture above, Broly destroyed a Galaxy (slowly, but he did), while he didn't even destroy half of the planet where he fought Goku and co. He was just playing with them.

And most importantly, in DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 he's OP ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀)

...part of me wants to bring up Demonbane, but I really don't want to.

THAT SAID. I agree.

"understanded" lol

But yeah, I always thought Broly's reasons for hunting Goku were pretty stupid too. He cried as a baby so you want him dead? Like come on xD But you gotta admit that family Kamehameha used to destroy him in his second movie was pretty badarse.

Peace!

I don't know Xam, Broly is always my punching bag in the DBZ games.

Except broly actually puts up a decent fight, if you want real DBZ punching bags, go with Yamacha I regret nothing

Wow. I didn't know he was THAT bad.

That was a very passionate rant. Even though i don't exactly keep up with Dragon Ball Z anymore.

eh, that's not really a substantial arguement when talking DBZ, at this point even krillin could destroy earth if he wanted to. Pretty much most characters introduced in DBZ that aren't human could do what broly did, they just have something to gain by keeping said planet/Galaxy alive (freiza, cell) only broly and buu are the only beings who show wanton destruction towards planets just for the sake of it. broly did go all out, in fact, he even went past his limit since he had to shed excess energy because his body couldn't contain it all, because if going all out meant the planet being destroyed then goku and co would have destroyed earth every other fight after saiyan saga.

Look, I honestly haven't watched Dragon Ball Z in ages (like 10 years ago?), and I have no intentions in getting into this argument any more. Since you seem to know quite a lot about the series, I can guess you're right, Broly was probably showing his full power when fighting Goku and the rest.

I mean, Broly IS cool, even the people who work on DBZ show a sort of likeness to him (I think). His background is legit stupid, it sounded so dumb. Why do people always praise him, Janemba is where it's at. Has a freakin' sword and pixelated-like body teleporting, come on, he doesn't get enough love!

Broli, and especially his first movie, is a perfect algamation of things DragonBall shouldn't have: overly-muscled characters, overpowered forms for the sake of overpowered forms, an overly "edgy" aesthetic and appeal, and a mindset based solely on fighting and causing destruction for the sake of fighting and causing destruction.

These are the things that people think DragonBall is about, when its really not, but they think it anyway because of things like Broli and his first movie.

And the thing is: I like Broly in a sense, or at least the concept behind him. WIth a little tweaking to his overall character and backstory, he could set up a really interesting dynamic in the series. He actually wasn't too bad of a character in his first film either. At the very least, he had some more qualities to him other than shouting "KAKAROT", like say his really dark sense of humor.

But still, overall, Broly is to DragonBall what Jar Jar Binks is to Star Wars.
