With the announcement yesterday that World of Final Fantasy (side note: looks incredibly adorable) is releasing in late October throughout the various regions, and the fact that Square Enix released in that document a month or so ago that 2.8 was on track to release in the fall of 2015, that leads me to believe that 2.8 will release either in November, or perhaps early December like 2.5.

 

Final Fantasy XV is obviously the main event this fall so Square probably put September and most of October off limits for other releases, WoFF is now end of October, so to fit in the "fall" category it has to be either November or December since they try to release their games at least several weeks apart.

 

Obviously, we don't have an official date yet (though I am confident we will get one at or possibly before E3), but it is cool to see the release window being narrowed down! Thoughts??

It'll release Late Q3 for Japan. And Late Q4 for the rest of the world. Calling it.

I doubt it since there was no English voice actors in the trailers unlike KH3.

With Final Fantasy XV in September and both Dragon Quest Builders and World of Final Fantasy in October, I'll be surprised if the game comes out around that time. It all depends if Japan are going to get a couple of weeks head start like with all the other KH games. They also have NieR Automata undated for 2016, but that's a more niche title even if Platinum Games are on it.

We are getting a new trailer of 2.8 tomorrow morning so we very well might get a release date(s) like WoFF.And that trailer was from last year, it's been 7 or 8 months, th st could have easily done English voices for the additional few hours of 0.2 and back cover. 3D already has English voices...

It will be similar, if not the same, for HD2.8 as it was for HD2.5: October for JP and December for the rest of the world.

I don't think just because FF15 is coming out in Sept. it would de-confirmed 2.8 coming out in the same month, they are completely different in why you would want to buy them, as long as they are separate the release dates enough they can come out in the same month. KH3 doesn't even have a release year meanwhile 2.8 did when they announced it and KH3 had English voice acting. Also, 2.8 doesn't really warrant a worldwide release as much as 3 does.

Hahaha it's all good, you had solid reasons for your thoughts, its not like you were just saying that to be different. It really could have gone either way. Regardless, it looks incredible and Willa Holland is voicing Aqua again. Now I want to know the exact release date so I know if I should ship it to Ohio or Florida... Woohoo Grad School
