Sooo... for me there are 2 possibilities now who the lost masters could be.

 

1. The 5 Foretellers, because the Unions started fighting against eachother and will probably be the ones who will fight during the war.

 

2. The 6th Forteller (who isn't actually a forteller^^) and the master of masters. As we know now, the master of masters as well as the 6th Forteller Luxu disappeared. We know that Luxu is just "watching" and waiting for the war to start. We don't know exactly what the master of masters is doing, but Luxu told Ava, that everything that happens follows the intentions of the master. Since both the master and luxu disappeared so suddenly i think that they may be the lost masters. And it is very likely that they (or at least the master) are pulling the strings and making the unions fight eachother, which will eventually turn into the Keyblade war.

 

I think that the second possibility is more likely, but what do you think? Do you agree or disagree with me, i'm excited to hear (read) your thoughts about this

The term Master's is used as plural therefore, it's more than one individual, however, because he also says "lost", this gives the possibility of Xehanort describing the Master of Masters and the 6th Apprentice as they are both "lost" and needed to be found by the other Fortellers.

It's most likely the the foretellers. We know that if a keyblade loses it's wielder that it becomes lifeless and starts to rust, so we can assume Luxu lived on after the war so he can't really be considered lost if his keyblade is being passed down/is still full of power. Especially since Luxu has to "move forward to the future"

True. It may be possible that some of the Foretellers joined the dandelions; the children who rebuilt the world. If this is the case, my bet is at least Ava (Vulpeus Foreteller) joined them.

You may have something there, a theory did come to mind though. What if the Foretellers that did survive are in either the realm of sleep or darkness.

Could be.... if there are survivors in the realm of darkness, i think we might see them in 0.2 ....

I am leaning toward the idea that the lost masters refers to the Foretellers. I mean, they did fight in the war and so would have become lost. It makes sense to me that way.
