There are Technos, those who wish to create technology. Anthros, those who want to connect with Earth itself. The Medivals, those who focus more on the Dark Ages. And The Citys, which treat each culture equally and experiment by combining them in unique ways. But soon...A great evil is about to arise...The same evil that came in the past...And I assume you all want to hear the tale that will be told...The story of how an unlikely team...Allies...Friends...Came together and saved the world while facing hardships, discoveries, and regrets...This is the story...The Legend...The myth of how...In the City of Aquila...Where classmates joined together to explore the world never tamed....

A building that was the size of a Skyscraper stood alongside buildings of unthinkable height. People came and went on their normal lives, playing on their phones, trying to get to work on time, and of course, kids playing around on the sidewalk.

With everything that was happening outside, it was a very important day for some at the Aquilia Combat School. (The building that was as tall as a skyscraper)

In one room, many students, roughly 30-35 students, talked and roamed around Room 408, a class that specializes in offensive and defensive skills. One student wore a Red Mage outfit with a black feather instead of the traditional white feather. Her body was laid back in her desk, with her feet crossed and resting on top of her desk. Her hands were behind her head and her hat covered her eyes. Sure, the class was bit loud, but it didn't bother her. She was used to it.

"Today's the big day!" A female student said.

"I'm a bit nervous...I-I don't know if I'll do well..." A male student said.

"Hey, cheer up! We're all doing this together you know. We'll be by your side and help you out." A male student said with a higher-pitched voice.

"Hah! Don't make me laugh." Another female student suddenly said. She looked to be about 17, given her appearance and height. Her hair was long and blonde and her clothes were more on a rebel styled attire. A smirk was on her face as she overheard the recent conversation. She leaned on the side of the wall with her arms crossed and her eyes closed. "You low-lives won't even remember how to punch once you get there. Unlike me, you don't stand a chance." She said with a very confident, yet rude tone.

"Says the garbage bagged girl." The Red Mage said. The classroom giggled a bit at her comment. The Rebel clothed girl growled at the Red Mage and opened her mean eyes. "Shut it, Solisa. Once I'm through with you, you'll be "Sol-Loser"." The Rebel responded.

"Wow...." The Red Mage replied. "That pun was as outdated as your clothing. Not-To-Be-Sold." The class bursts into laughter. The Red Mage wasn't afraid of this cocky-bully. "Why you little...!" The Rebel then walked to the Red Mage's desk and slammed her hands on the Red Mage's desk. "Listen, you peeping pipsqueak. I'm trying not to get in trouble today. So shut up or else I'll pound you before the exam even starts! Got it!?"

"....That's it? You'll pound me? Sheesh, for trying to be a good student I'm glad you ain't an angel Sara."

"SHUT UP!!" Sara yelled out with rage. "Don't make me come back, you Mage maggot." With that, she took a deep breath and walked back to her spot, leaning against the wall and crossed her arms.

Kelon was walking with his team, looking around at his team with a stern and stoic look on his face. He folded his arms as he continued to look at them with a stern expression on his face. He could tell that Sara had gone ahead, making him sigh mentally at Sara's behavior. He was thinking of teaching her some manners later, but now wasn't the time, and he needed to keep his cover. "We're already here, and our studies have prepared us for this very moment, and now we are ready for the exam, but remember, it's not a test of power, it's a test of heart and will." Said Kelon, talking to his team.

Elsa stayed still when the room went dark, her eyes and her Gaster Blaster pet Ricky's eyes glowing a little. What the hell is going on? Why'd it go dark all of a sudden?, she thought, trying to look around. Then when a light went on, they both relaxed a little, though they kept their guard up. When Solisa asked if they were fine, she replied, "Yes, we're fine. Right, Ricky?" Ricky responded with a short growl that sounded like a yes.

Aaron had followed Solisa's lead, into the pitch black darkness. For a moment, Aaron's hood seemed to twitch, as if there was something beneath as he was startled from the pitch black darkness... Not like anyone could see it, anyway. Regardless he could sense the presence of the others. Solisa sparked a flame from her hand, lighting the path. He couldn't deny — that magic was awesome, and it was just so unbelievable that she could create it from thin air.

"I'm fine!" Aaron shouted from the hall. Adjusting his hood, he dashed up to his teammates again.

Grace got startled when the light of the room went off. She looks around, nothing but pitch black. She was relieved after Solisa summoned a small fire on her hand. "I'm alright."

Laz heard the others come in as she continued looking around.  "Woah...This looks dope!" Solisa exclaimed with glee right before all light vanished.  Damn.  Ever since I lost my other eye, I can't see in the dark.  And my flashlight doesn't work, Laz mentally grumbled as she kept pushing the button on her flashlight, This sucks...

As the teen lamented over her lost ability, Solisa's hand suddenly became encased with flame so to illuminate the room somewhat.  Then, the black mage asked everyone if they were okay.  "Yeah, I'm fine..." Laz's voice trailed off after everyone else answered.  Oh man, fire magic like that would be so helpful when adventuring... and the only elemental magic I know is Thunder, which is useless.  The Anthros glared a little in envy.  But then she noticed the button that Solisa was standing over.  "Hey, you gotta be more careful!" she pointed at the button and started to explain, "Floor traps like these are, like, the most basic of traps.  They're in practically every dungeon, and tower, and just any old, run down abandoned place in general.  So, just watch it, okay?"

After he entered the first room, Anton looked around the area for a few seconds, realizing it's a maze.

Anton expected that Sara won't really comply, but was still frustrated by her response. He let out a small signed, then replied to her: "And why exactly did you run like that in the first place? I assume it was because of that meaningless competition? We're not going to run so early just because of your childish behaviour. Additionally, I doubt this room is going to be just a simple maze-there is more to it. There are probably some traps and monsters scattered around the area. Charging ahead mindlessly will just trigger these traps, and will cause nothing but trouble. "

Sara scoffed and looked the other direction. "It's none of ya'll's beeswax. I do things for my own reasons, a'right? Nothin' else you should care about." She said. Sara walked towards the grassy wall she was facing, looking at the sign. "Let's get this over with already." Sara then read the sign:

"A maze is meant to test the mind of the human brain, but this maze shall test your will and strength. Find the exit through this maze and proceed to the next challenge."
Sara blew her hair up from her face. "Simple enough. Shouldn't take us too long."

"Sorry 'bout that." Solisa then said, looking around. "This must be part of the room." The Black Mage slowly walked forward, looking around this room of darkness until she hit a wall, which made her a little dizzy. She groaned and shook her head. "Ugh...Hm? Hey fellas! Come look at this!" She called, pointing at the text with her hand of fire.

"Find the candles to bring back the light, but have a careful eye of wandering NightLights."
....Darn. Solisa thought. Then suddenly, the sound of Flashlights clicking and turning could be heard. White lights could be seen shining through the room. Solisa snapped her finger with her fire hand in order to stop it. "Somethin's telling me this won't be easy..."

(Night Lights)

Night Lights are creatures that wear a blue hat and black shoes, mainly dressed like a night guard. Their eyes are yellow and their skin is black, though they don't sport a mouth. They cannot see clearly without the aid of light, which is why they use flashnights in order to travel and see. They cannot hear either. In battle, most use the ability Bright, which flashes the opponent with a sudden shine from their flashlight. Night Lights can be mostly seen during the night under the moonlight where there aren't too many people and not too much light.

Elsa heard Solisa and went to see what she was looking at, her Gaster Blaster pet deciding to disappear and wait for his master's command. When the girl had read the text out loud, Elsa asked her, "What are NightLights?" Then she heard noises and looked up to see white lights flashing around. When Solisa said that this wouldn't be easy, she replied to her with, "Well, no said that it would be easy in the first place."

Millicent was a generally calm person. However, it took quite a bit of willpower to keep herself from lecturing Sara. This girl is impossible to reason with... She instead turned her mind towards what her teammate had read off of the sign. "Strength and will are the keys to solving this maze...? I'm guessing that means we'll need to fight something to move on. We should be careful going through the maze, otherwise we might end up getting hit with a surprise attack." The healer gave her own thoughts on the situation. She hoped that Sara could work together with them for this puzzle. Millicent feared that splitting up could lead to something bad, but at the same time, she had a feeling that even Sara wouldn't make that type of mistake.

Great, so much for looking for treasure, Laz thought glumly after hearing Solisa read the sign outloud.  When Elsa asked what Night Lights were, Laz answered, "They're monsters that like to be out at night, or in dark places.  They have yellow eyes, black skin, no mouths, and wear big blue hats.  They're pretty fast and like to blind people with their giant flashlights before going in for the kill."

The Anthros couldn't help but smirk, and wrapped her arms around Elsa's and Aaron's shoulders.  "In fact, some say that they were once humans that were experimented on by the Technos.  They were trying to make the ultimate assassins; ones that had eyes that could see everything, that would quietly melt into the shadows and strike with no hesitation, had no need for food or water, and could feel nothing.  But something horrible went wrong of course, and it turned those poor human guinea pigs into monsters with no memory of who they once were."  Then, Laz let go of them and laughed, "But I think that's all bs!  Anyway, they're blind themselves without their flashlights, so take those out, and they're sitting ducks!  Trust me, I've dealt with a few of them, and they're not that strong.  With my Haste spell, we've nothing to fear!"

"Heh heh, is that so? Then let's get this party started!"

Particles in the air conjured up Aaron's Masamune, a weapon said to possess the power to kill in one strike.... But Aaron's was merely a copy formed by the Technos.
The Green glow flashed again on Aaron's eyes, then the crest again formed on his hand and disappeared.

The word Velox shot through Aaron's mind.

Masamune was a long weapon — surely all it took was a mere slice towards the lanterns, and the Night Lights would definitely be blinded. The setup would leave the monsters blinded for the others to finish off.
"Laz!" Aaron called "Let's see what you got! Cast Haste on me!"

Solisa let out a small snicker at Laz's explanation to the origins of the NightLights. "Stop playin' with 'em." She said. The Black Mage looked down the hallway to the right. The white light was just coming over. "Hang on ya'll! We dunno how many there even is or how this place works. Plus, these Night Lights might be different from what we're used to. Maybe we could have a plan first before we attack. Besides, all we gotta do is find some candles and light them up. But the challenge is that since other sources of light, even a little bit, attracts NightLights, it'll be dangerous to pull off." Solisa said.

Kelon walked over to the sign regarding the maze, and stared ahead towards it, and glanced at Sara, mentally sighing at her behavior. He wanted to to teach her a lesson regarding overconfidence about this, but he held it in, as his duty was more important. Although, he was feeling a little worried that her behavior could cause her to leap right into danger. He folded his arms as he looked at her sternly. "Make no mistake, Sara, if you keep acting the way you are right now, you will let your ways lead you to danger one day, and it could also put us in danger... Just letting you know, and mazes like these... Can reflect on a person's soul." Said Kelon, talking to Sara.

Elsa just rolled her eyes and pushed Laz away, hearing quite enough from the girl. "Anyways, let's just get these things and get it over with it..." Elsa muttered under her breath. Her eyes turned purple and soon enough, she snapped her fingers and several Gaster Blasters came out, growling at the white lights. "Wait for my command, guys." She told the creatures, to which they growled in response.

"Alright, alright, I'll be good," Laz chuckled playfully, and brushed off Elsa's push.  Soon though, they could see a Night Light approaching.  "Laz!  Let's see what you got! Cast Haste on me!" Aaron called out, and she could see that he was just as excited to show off his skills as she was.  She smirked and replied with, "You got it!" and snapped her fingers.  A red ring encircled his waist and it spun faster and faster until it disappeared, proof that the spell had worked (based the animation from FFIV DS's Hase casting).  Pulling out her daggers, Laz got ready to rush out and attack, and Elsa resummoned those cool skulls.  I gotta remember to ask her what those are.

But before they could do anything else, Solisa said to wait and come up with a plan.  "Like I said, if we can sneak up on them quickly, they're toast!  They ain't that strong.  Unless you wanna try finding all these candles to light first, but like you said: it'll just attract them, so we're gonna be fightin' them anyway.  I think we should take them out one by one before they all get together; it'll be easier that way, and we won't hafta worry about bein' outnumbered," Laz said a bit impatiently, bouncing on her feet and ready to go.  She really didn't wanna wait anymore and let them get the first strike.

"Well, what's the plan, then? My friends want to attack them already." Elsa said to her, crossing her arms. She also wanted to fight them as well, though she was sensible to at least listen to a plan. I hope it's a good one. Otherwise, i'll have no choice but to send the Gaster Blasters at the NightLights..., she thought, looking at her skeletal friends, who were getting impatient.

"Thanks, Laz," Aaron said, glancing towards her. Aaron's Gift already made him fast, but this... This was definitely some other feeling. Aaron felt like he could zip through sound in a moment, and Aaron clenched Masamune by the hilt, pivoting his stance to run at a moment's notice.

"Solisa! I've got a plan!" Aaron called next, "You, Elsa and Grace will take the lead in destroying them! Your power should be enough to add the finishing touches! Laz, we'll take the front lines! Disarm them first, then rip them apart!" He glanced towards Laz, smirking again. It was like he tasted her fighting spirit, too.

"Let's show them what we've got!

Elsa heard what Aaron said and replied to him, "Now that's a plan!" She then looked at her Gaster Blasters and said, "Alright. When he's worn them out, you guys and Grace will finish them off. Got it?" The Gaster Blasters growled in agreement, liking that plan. They soon had the command locked into their minds and kept their attention on the lights for any sudden movements from them.

"Ooh, I like the sound of that~" Laz sang and smiled, hyped to go.  Close and personal, that's my favorite!  And sneaking's my best skill!  This'll be fun~

Grace nodded at Aaron. "Got it!" She gets her spear ready and looks at Elsa. "Sounds good." She Wait for Aaron and Solisa to attack the Night Lights.

"Hmm...Okay. But how about this? I go and light the candles while you guys take care of the Night Lights? That way, we'll be killin' two birds in one stone, easy peasy." Solisa said, then snapping her finger to make her hand light up on fire. "After all, I am the one with fire. So I'm basically the only one that can light them up." She stated.

The nearby Night Light sensed the flame that Solisa conjured. Its yellow eyes were then visible as its head turned towards the group. The white light of the flashlight started to quickly creep up towards the team from the right. "Huh?....Uh oh." Was all Solisa could say before the Night Light was right close to them. Solisa squinted her eyes as the brightness was shown. "H-Hey, turn it down a notch!" She said, even though she knew Night Lights couldn't hear. But it seemed that her wish was somehow granted. When the Black Mage blinked and opened her eyes fully, the Night Light was gone. "Huh? Where'd he go?" Her hand was still on fire. Solisa looked down to see that they were back on the stairs from where they got off. "What the-? H-How'd we get back here?" She questioned.

"....Oh, don't tell me we have to avoid those Night Lights or else we get sent back here! Talk about trollin' at the highest degree!" Solisa crossed her arms with her left hand still on fire.

Sara took a quick glance at Kelon, then sighed while walking. "Tell me somethin' I don't know...I've been through some hard times in my life, so don't you go about tellin' me how a person should act. Besides...I didn't have anyone to teach me right anyways..." Sara then shook her head. "Wh-Why am I tellin' ya'll my sappy story? It's not like I'll get bunched up with you guys again."

As the group continued, Sara suddenly stopped her tracks. "Wait...Ya'll hear that?" She asked while her eyes were closed. The others may not be hearing it, but Sara was hearing the sound of dirt being moved, dug through by claws. "Somethin's down below..." The Blonde then opened her eyes and raised her fist in the air.

"HAAH!" Her fist slammed towards the ground, making a loud, collision sound. In no more than a few seconds, 5 figures of creatures popped out from the ground and into the air. 2 of them landed in front of Sara while the other 3 landed in front of the team. They were big, purple squirrel-like creatures that had big, furry tails and red eyes. "Ah-Hah! Just some Mu. If ya'll didn't have me around, they woulda ambushed you." She said, confidently. One of the Mus leaped towards Sara. The Blonde girl simply smirked and punched the Mu upwards, sending it high into the sky with just one punch. She yawned and stretch a little.

"Too easy."

Elsa rolled her eyes at her and muttered under her breath, "Aaron's plan is better..." Then she saw a NightLight get close to Solisa. But before she could send a Gaster Blaster at it, they were immediately back at the stairs that they had gotten off. "What the hell?! Why did we end up back here? Oh nevermind! Let's just go back up there!" And soon enough, she ran back to where the NightLights were, her Gaster Blasters following.

Edited by KHUndertaleFan25

Aaron looked, flabbergasted by the sudden change of scenery. It was the entrance, yet again.

"Tsk, damn it! Get back here!" Aaron growled. He was ready to take the monsters down at any moment, but them having disappeared frustrated him.

Aaron kicked off of his feet with insane speed. The added affect of the Haste spell and his gift made him nearly zip through light, and wind whistled behind him. The Night Lights were still where he found them, and just as he'd taken a huge swing with Masamune, he found himself whipping at air again....
Being teleported back to his teammates, Aaron said
"Okaaaaay I give up!" Aaron raised his arms in the air, defeated.

"So what do we do now?"

Edited by Clouded Sun

When Elsa reached back to where the NightLights were, she stayed a few feet away from the creatures and sent her Gaster Blasters to shoot their lasers at them. She knew that this wasn't part of the plan, but she didn't care. She'd rather be done with the test than have to deal with the stupid NightLights.

Solisa crossed her arms and tapped her foot, trying to of a new plan to at least outsmart these things...Even though they didn't need to be outsmarted.

"Hmm...When the flashlight hit us, we were sent back here, right? So maybe if we could avoid those lights or in fact, get rid of the flashlights without being shined, then we can just find those candles at our own pace!" She talked out loud, enough for the team to hear her.

The lasers that were shot by the Gaster Blasters managed to hit at least 3 Night Lights. All three were defeated and faded away.
