What do you mean with "problems"?

I heard that the game was overhyped so I assumed that it was something bad

This should answer any and all questions

In a nutshell, it wasn't what people expected. That's what happens with hype.

I don't think it was hype that brought the game down, I think it's just the fact that the game director said myself that all of these things are going to be in the game, so people had a good reason to be hyped and when the game came out people were disappointed because he pretty much lied

There was a lot of that too. For all we know, those mechanics could be broken. Sure, they promised things, but I don't think they ever said those mechanics will be available with the release. It's still the community's fault for eating it all up.

The main thing is just that there's not enough content in the game to keep you wanting to play after a few hours, especially considering the price tag it currently has.

Exactly this. I personally think they were just pushed to release and things weren't working right so in the end they just had to remove a bunch of stuff for the time being (and other stuff i'm sure they just decided to completely scrap because it didn't fit what they wanted). I'm confident it'll be there in the future, but I really wish they didn't release so soon. Then again if they hadn't there'd be a ton more death threats thrown at them for delaying it more.
