What if Kingdom Hearts ended with 2 what plots would be left open?

Posted

Just imagen they never released a Kingdom Hearts game again after KH2 and KH2 had NO SECRET ENDING

What would be left open, plot holes and other things?

Honselty back then a kid I never knew that there was a secret ending or that there would be anymore games. I thought it was over. Then one day I shall 358 in a store but it was a while later till I was able to get it

For the most part, there would be nothing left hanging.

The only thing that comes to mind would be Xehanort's origin. The Secret Ansem Reports wonder where Xehanort came from and how he was able the unlock the door. But since it was in a report, I doubt anyone would've really cared.

The things that would be left open/unexplained (note, I will not count the Final Mix exclusive cutscenes for obvious reasons):

  • Xehanort's superhuman abilities mentioned by Ansem the Wise in the secret reports.
  • "The others" that Xigbar references before his boss battle.
  • What Riku was doing while Sora was asleep.
  • What happened to Cloud and Sephiroth (which has yet to be revealed).
  • How the legends of the Keyblade bringing peace while another states brought destruction and ruin came to be.
  • Why Kairi had a Keyblade.

Well one big one that comes to mind is why did Roxas look like he did instead of Sora. Why did he leave the organization? All that got explained later on. Also Axel's behavior from CoM to KH2 would seem more strange if Days didn't go into that more. What was the deal with Kairi's keyblade? What Riku and even Mickey were doing during certain times...I still want them to explain how Isa/Saix and Lea/Axel became nobodies. We have some clues but that's it. I'm sure there is more but those few things come to my head first besides what James Lutz mentioned about Xehanorts origin which is big.

What if Dream Drop Distance never happened:)

Well considering a major "retcon-fest" happened from there on in.... welp lol :P

At the time that I played it, I wouldn't have looked very deep into it and probably wouldn't have cared.

Mickey: uhmmm... I just had a terrible dream, 10 years of Kingdom Hearts lore got retconned in a few minutes

Young Xehanort smiling: That wasn't a dream.

honestly i don't think there would have been any major plot threads left dangling if KH2 had ended the series. a couple minor curiosities here and there but for the most part it would have felt like a nice and complete ending.

it would have and it still does, tbh
