Update 3: Not much of an update, but still interesting nonetheless. Square Enix have updated their page explaining the different editions of Kingdom Hearts 3D to include the game's boxart.

Update 2: The box cover artwork has been updated with an *even larger* version of the front cover, this time from Amazon.com and thanks to Nova_Crystallis for the tip. You can see this below. Please click to open a larger version.

Update 1: The box cover artwork has been updated with a higher quality version from Square Enix's e-STORE's Twitter. This is the same size, but slightly clearer and without the Nintendo 3DS box template.

The front cover of the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance game box has been revealed. As usual, the front cover features artwork by Tetsuya Nomura, depicting characters from the game. It's very pretty, so we hope you like it as much as we do! Thanks to aibo_ac7 for the tip.

.....Why do people keep thinking the cover will be different from the Japanese one? Aren't they all the same? I thought the only differences where the back covers....am I missing something? @_@

Yep they are totaly same there is no single diference...

    Well, actually every Kingdom Hearts game has always featured the same cover in Japanese, North American and European editions.

    The rating looks a little small. Wait a sec....

    Nevermind, after checking some 3DS boxes, the rating is smaller than usual on them. I can't believe I never noticed that before.

    I know I'm probably not the first to point this out, but I have a hunch that Riku moving up parallels "Darkness becomes light" and Sora falling parallels "Light will drop into darkness."

    I love symbolism!

    Riku looks awesome here... it almost makes up for them chopping off his epic hair...

    I asked this before and I think it is a Japan thing where you get to pre-order the 3DS bundle on specific dates. If you pre-order the 3DS bundle earlier you get the Ultimate, then later you get the Gold, and so on. Now, I think they're on Bronze. As to what these edition means, I have no idea.

    Thats only inal fantasy.....all the kingdom hearts ones have been the same in the different regions

    Those are both Japan covers but one is a special edition.

     

    Really i swear that EU cover looks exactly same as the first one....

    im a little late to the party but...I LOVE this cover!!!!

    i a with everyone saying there is so much symbolism to it ( Sora is falling, Riku rising ) and i love how Nomura always finds a way to put Mickey<3 on the cover and still make it look super cool!! i have a feeling Sora is going pay another visit to that dark realm again( and maybe meet Aqua there<3 oh gosh i hope so! ) and Mickey and Riku are gonna come to the rescue!!
