Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] released in Japan today, on March 29, 2012. Our coverage of the game has begun. 7:59AM EST: Earlier, we shared a post from 2ch that explained the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3D. goldpanner have provided us with a more detailed translation of this post, and you can read it at the link below. Keep in mind that it contains major spoilers, and also that there is a chance that it might not be accurate. However, another site confirms some of the information here, so it appears that it might be true. As for the translation:

5:30AM EST: crimmyice from Justin.tv is currently doing a live-stream of the game. You can watch this below. The playthrough is over, for now, however are able to watch a recording of it below.

4:58AM EST: We have received many photos showing the Kingdom Hearts 3D box, revealing its contents in detail. These photos were uploaded by takaturtle from KH13, who created a thread here. You can see the photos below.

3:26AM EST: A post on 2ch has possibly revealed the ending of the game. While we don't yet know if this is legit or not, a user on Tumblr has translated the post entirely. You can click the link to see it, but remember that this is not yet confirmed. Also remember that since this explains the game's ending, it obviously has spoilers.

2:33AM EST: Square Enix have updated their official website for the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Original Soundtrack. This update reveals that Disc 1 (of the 3-disc soundtrack) will contain 16 tracks, and also gives the names of these tracks. You can see them below. Many of the tracks have audio samples to listen to, so please check it out.

So I just saw the ending, and all I can say is this:

 

Nomura, your trolling level has officially gone god-tier.

 

But either way, I still enjoyed it. Seeing Sora with those silly glasses and everyone eating cake (mustnotmakeportalreference) was really cute. I also love how Lea all of a sudden has a keyblade, with everyone going "WHAAAAAAA-", and he's acting all cool >w>.

    Just a tip guys, but you may want to avoid playing proud mode. YMX is broken as all hell and he's just as hard if not harder than he was in BBS. I can't even imagine someone beating him on critical mode.

    there is always a way. i wish this game comes to the PS3 or the PS4 including KH3.

    I love that Sora tackled Riku twice in the ending for no reason, and Sora seemed happy about everything.

    I'm starting to think that YMX is simply YMX and he's from a different time line all together and traveled forward in time to accomplish something. I mean I don't know how else to explain who else he could be. He's not Isa, he's not MX, so who in heck is he?

    No. Everybody is waiting for someone to beat it on proud mode and crimmyice is the closest, but he's having a lot of trouble beating YMX. The one that did beat it was playing on beginners mode, so we have to wait for someone to beat it on proud mode. Nomura did say you could see the secret ending in beginners mode this time, but you probably have to d extra things to be able to see it.

    Am I the only person who thinks the ending is utter bullcrap? I mean, <i>come on.</i> Some of it I can see, like Sora not becoming a master yet, but Lea becoming a keyblade bearer? Really? Nomura can do so much better than this. :

    Saw the ending. Here's my theory about being back in Traverse Town. Sora retakes the exam since dream eaters only appear in the dream realm. I really glad that Sora isn't sad at all that he didn't become a master :3. Perhaps the secret ending will show some ending of Sora finishing the exam the second time around o:?

    Well with MX making all those Norts we need all the keybladers we can get so Im all for Lea getting a badass looking keyblade he just got. Plus,the chances of him being playable for KH3 are even higher now . Lea saved Soras ass and even faced off with his own childhood best friend Isa ( epic scene btw ).He has been through a lot and quite frankly proved his strength of heart .He deserves one IMO
