Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX sells over 84,000 copies in 4 days in Japan

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX released in Japan last week on October 2, 2014, and thanks to 4Gamer.net, we now know the game's sales between its release and October 5. In these first 4 days of being available, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX sold 84,935 copies in Japan, including all Limited Editions. Famitsu have reported slightly different sales numbers, and have split it up based on the package-- with 85,354 copies recorded for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX by itself, 13,656 copies for the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX Starter Pack, and all other packs missing out on the charts.

In conclusion, it can be estimated that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX sold approximately 85,000 to 100,000 copies in its first 4 days. As a comparison, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX sold 128,414 copies in the first 4 days-- however, this difference can likely mostly be attributed to declining sales of PlayStation 3 software.

Strange more people would buy 1.5 than 2.5. Maybe it will be the same in America and other territories as well?

The PS3 was a lot stronger back then. PS4 wasn't out yet.

More than I was expecting actually. I was thinking 50,000 if they're lucky.

What would be good sale numbers for an HD remaster though?

PS4 is out now.  PS3 is seen as "outdated" I guess. Wonder if the American/Europe numbers will be better or worse.

Disappointing numbers.

Eh, that sounds about right for an opening in Japan though from what i remember with most games.

That's ok guys, they'll just combine total sales with HD complete for PS4/One

Well they'd want it to outsell 1.5.

Well they'd want it to outsell 1.5.

Especially since this is kind of the essential one for understanding KHIII.

Not surprised to see KH 2.5  have those sales numbers in Japan since Smash bros for Nintendo 3DS is out and that's the thing everyone over there wants right now. Plus, add to the fact that home consoles are starting to die out over there and how KH is not nearly as popular in Japan as it is in the West. I expect t see KH 2.5 sell a lot more units in America/Europe than Japan.

I always expected something like this for the sales. KH 1.5 might have been completely sold on the nostalgia of Kingdom Hearts 1 alone. The same might have not applied here.
