New Kingdom Hearts Flood plush toy releasing in Japan + Shadow re-release

Square Enix has announced the new Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Flood plush toy that was revealed earlier this year will be released in Japan on September 26, 2015. The Flood plush toy will cost 4,940 Yen.
 
They also announced the Kingdom Hearts Shadow plush toy will be released on October 30, 2015. The Shadow plush toy will cost 3,300 Yen. The Shadow plush toy was released in December 2012, but we are unsure why it's being re-released now.
 
Note: The Japanese Square Enix online store will not ship outside of Japan.

On the official Disney Games Japan website, new screenshots of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ were posted and shared. As the game is reaching the final stages of development and being prepared to release in September, more and more screenshots are shared to show it's current progress in development. Along with the new screenshots shared on the official Disney Games Japan website, the official Twitter account for Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ, @KHUX_PR, have also shared new screenshots. New extras added to Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] following the August 20, 2015 maintenance + Story update

Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] has finished tonight's maintenance which includes some of the routine maintenance additions. This includes new cards which consist of King Mickey (SR), Hayner, Pence, Olette (SR+), Namine (SR), and Sora, Donald, and Goofy in their Atlantica forms (SR+). Aside from the usual additions, some new additions were implemented into the game such as Watermelon Heartless, which are now appearing in the game as well as Watermelon treasure chests. As players go to the treasure chests and defeat Heartless, they will be rewarded depending on what ranks they get throughout this limited time event for Watermelon Heartless. Along with new additions in the game, a new story update was posted. The story update consists of following the previous story mission which is located in Daybreak Town and will be implemented into the game during the next maintenance update on September 3rd. With the story update also comes an update on the levels for each Keyblade in the game increasing. From the Keyblades, an exception to the level upgrade is made for the "Moogle of Glory" Keyblade which is a Keyblade exclusively provided at the Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] 2nd anniversary event. Lastly, an update was provided regarding the postcards from the 2nd anniversary event. It is scheduled that the postcards will be delivered to those who won during the 2nd anniversary next week, on August 27th. You can read translations of each update below.

Kingdom Hearts series breaks 21 million sales

At the Disney Interactive event at D23 Expo 2015, Kingdom Hearts had the spotlight where there were some exciting announcements made by Square Enix that can be found here.
 
Jimmy Pitaro, president of Disney Interactive, started off the presentation by stating that the franchise of Kingdom Hearts has sold over 21 million copies world-wide. This pushes Kingdom Hearts from 80th place to at least 70th place on the Wikia page for video game franchise sales.
 
The Kingdom Hearts series began with its release in 2002. Over the past 13 years it has grown into series that is
by fans. It has also created a better bond between Disney and Square Enix over the years which is proven by Disney's continued and increased support.

Comicbook.com interviews John Vignocchi, VP of production for Disney Infinity - "Hopefully this leads to us doing more."

In an interview with Comicbook.com, John Vignocchi, the vice president of production for Disney Infinity, claims that he hopes the recent inclusion of Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity 3.0 "leads to more".
 
 
In the interview, Vignocchi also reveals that the inclusion of Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity has been planned for quite some time:
 
 
Also, as if that wasn't enough, he made a series of tweets that could further suggest a larger role for Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity.
 



 
Take these tweets with a grain of salt, seeing as they neither confirm or deny more Kingdom Hearts in future versions of Disney Infinity, but the winky face and the caps-locked "LOL" imply a sarcastic remark.

The Keyblade is the Ultimate Unlock in Disney Infinity 3.0 & Kingdom Hearts King Mickey costume to be given out to D23 attendees

During the Disney Interactive presentation at D23 Expo 2015, the team at Disney Infinity revealed that the Keyblade will be the the Ultimate Unlock in Disney Infinity 3.0. The Ultimate Unlock is achieved by collecting every figure available for Disney Infinity. This gives players the opportunity to use the Keyblade as a weapon in the game.
 
Additionally, fans attending D23 were rewarded a King Mickey costume, which is Mickey Mouse's attire from the Kingdom Hearts series. This costume will NOT be sold in stores.

Big Hero 6 world announced for Kingdom Hearts III

During the Disney Interactive event at D23 Expo 2015, a world based on the movie Big Hero 6 was announced for Kingdom Hearts III! The story in Kingdom Hearts III will take place after the events of the movie. The subplot of the world will involve Heartless taking over the Baymax that was left inside the portal from the end of the film. The following image is concept art created by series artists, which showcases Sora riding on the back of Battlesuit Baymax.

Every Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts III will have its own transformation, attraction flow can be used at any time

During the Disney Interactive event at D23 Expo 2015, it was announced that every Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts III will have its own transformation. The hosts made sure to emphasize that every single Keyblade is included in this. It was also re-confirmed at the event that attraction flow is able to be activated at any time. This was just mentioned in passing, so there's not much else to report here!

Square Enix teases Kingdom Hearts III Tangled world name: Kingdom of Corona

In a tweet on the official English Twitter page for the Kingdom Hearts series, Square Enix has teased the name for the Tangled world in Kingdom Hearts III, referring to the world as the "Kingdom of Corona". KH13 Contest: Share your fan-art & win 2 copies of the Kingdom Hearts manga

Hey everyone! Today marks the first anniversary of the KH13 community’s involvement in the social media pages. Also, the Disney D23 Expo is just around the corner so to celebrate we have decided to have another competition. This will be a fan-art competition that will running for TWO weeks, and will give creative individuals the chance to win the two volumes of the first Kingdom Hearts manga (translated in English by Yen Press).
 

 
To enter the competition you must create a fan-art which envisions what you’d like to see in Kingdom Hearts III. Throwing ideas out, this can mean multiple things like:
Summons (characters or the newly announced attraction flow rides),
Keyblade Transformations (weapons or gliders like in Birth by Sleep)
Character Outfits (other characters’ outfits, drive forms, armour like in Birth by Sleep, or for different worlds)

Your fan-art must fall into one of the three categories (listed above) and it must be created specifically for this competition. Read on for more details.
 
How to enter:
Upload your fanart to KH13 (either to the Fan-made Images gallery, or by making a new topic somewhere), and then put a link to your fan-art in the comments below so that we can find it easily.
Fan-art must be related to Kingdom Hearts, fall into one of 3 categories above and it must be created specifically for the competition. You can enter multiple times if you want to increase your chances.
At midnight EDT on August 27th, 2015, our team will deliberate and decide on our favourite fan-art submitted, contact the winner of the contest, and send them their copy of the first two Kingdom Hearts manga! This contest is open to everyone as long as the manga can be shipped to their location via Amazon, etc.
