  2. The 50 other options are not just for trans* people. There is a whole host of other gender identities which have nothing to do with the physical part (which is a major issue for trans* people) There are people who identify as nonbinary, genderfluid, etc. Being neither male or female is usually mental (although not always, it's actually physical sometimes, because people have no way of realizing that the reason they feel like the wrong gender is because they have an odd chromosomal arrangement, like XXX, XXY, etc. although these usually result in disabilities) however there are some people who are actually born with both male and female parts. However, Facebook's options are primarily for people who identify outside of the gender binary mentally.

  9. It always seems like I'm running out of reading material, so I'm sure some of y'all are running into the same problem that I am. So feel free to recommend all of your favorite reads!! (try to avoid recommending things that everyone has heard of like The Hunger Games or Harry Potter) I read mostly history/political science, but these are books I think anyone can get into: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (this is literally one of the best books ever and I think everyone should try reading it) War In Peace (it's by like a laundry list of authors, but it's a big book published in 81 I think so you should be able to find it) The Violence of Peace: America's Wars in the Age of Obama by Stephen Carter America Again: Rebecoming the Greatness We Never Weren't by Stephen Colbert (it's by Colbert so you know it'll be funny) Papillon by Henri Cherriere Anything ever written by John Green The City of Ember by Jeanne Duprau The Luxe series by Anna Godberson Command and Control by Eric Schlosser (he also wrote Fast Food Nation, which is fantastic too)
  10. heads up guys i might be missing for a few days. we're getting a foot of snow (or more) so our power might go out.
  11. Are you saying someone should be ashamed of being comfortable with their body and sexuality? If it's not hurting you, who cares? (same goes with getting high) If they're okay with it then why should you care? Someone can do whatever they want with their body. Personally, I don't like when people dye their hair green. I think it's an icky hair color. But that doesn't mean I have any right to tell them "YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR DYING YOUR HAIR GREEN" it's their choice. It's their body. And I am not at all affected by that choice, so I don't have a right to tell them that their green hair is shameful. Anyway, personally I really dislike math at higher levels and, once you've learned all of the math necessary for normal life (probably stop around 10th grade/algebra 2), I think you should be allowed to choose whether to continue or not. I mean, I've learned all the math I need to at this point. What is some pre-calculus going to do for my future careers? It's not going to help me shoot down bad guys or lead a country. It's a completely useless class that I'm wasting hours fretting over. On that same thread, I love history. Why can't I drop math so I can take the civil war class going on during the same period?? Pre-calc is a useless skill for me, but hey, civil war class? A class that'll teach me about fighting and tactics and political decisions that can influence a war? Perfect! So why can't I take that instead of pre-calc?
  12. I think some fandoms just seem..idk less fun to be in? On Tumblr I blog mostly HS and Doctor Who. The HS fandom is very inclusive and exciting to be a part of, even if I blog a bit less of it. But fandoms like DW and Sherlock just seem less fun? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them, but the blogs aren't full of as many questions, feminism, social justice, funny, etc. stuff. Just mostly black and white edits of characters' faces and occasionally the nsfw fanfic, but other than that, the fans don't seem as exciting?? I know that's not a good way of phrasing it but yeah.
  13. i can't stop singing love is an open door rip
  14. I use a Triton pair and they're pretty nice
  15. I actually cannot believe this? This is sick. If they didn't want the giraffe, there was literally another zoo offering to take it and they didn't accept?? What?? They just wanted an excuse to kill an animal and that's firetrucked up. This zoo has done this before, too. I hope they get shut down or something, because killing an animal with no reason is just screwed up.
