Kairi has a keyblade, so she's learning how to use it, plain and simple. Now maybe she can take care of herself and be less useless, that's all. As a princess of heart, she probably can't be a light. Terra is still possessed by Xehanort, and at the time they didn't know Lea had been made a keyblade wielder. But no one's been assigned the official role of any of the lights; they're chosen naturally. And the lights are keyblade wielders, Donald and Goofy don't count. And finally, they don't have to stop at 7 just because that's what makes a X-blade; there will be 13 Xehanorts. The more the merrier.

He's retired. I assume something tragic happened in his past that made him retire, as Xehanort's old butt is still running around. That, or maybe he had to give up his keyblade in order to gain some of the knowledge he has...i.e. he knew all about the keyblade wars and the X-blade being 13 darknesses and 7 lights. Without his keyblade, while he does still have powerful magics, he can't really fight He just sort of sits there and watches over things, alerting other people when there's danger.

I actually thought of a plotline like this before. For some reason, in said plotline, the princesses of heart had to die and be sacrificed...and Sora wasn't going for that...but a few other friends were... Master Eraqus?

But see, the reason Nomura has made so many keyblade wielders is because we're sort of heading towards a possible second keyblade war, although you totally got me with the future games thing; it does seem like there will be too many heroes/ protagonists, and everyone's supposed to be saved after KH3 I was also severely disappointed in Axel/Lea getting a keyblade. That was sort of the final straw. I was fine with Kairi having one, being a princess of heart and all, but Lea? Chakrams are cooler, and Lea having a keyblade was totally fanservice. I mean, most things involving Axel/Lea are total fanservice, but this one takes the cake. HOWEVER, you shouldn't say it makes keyblade wielders not special or anything; compare the amount of characters we have and keep in mind that they're supposed to watch over the entire multiverse, which is infinitely vast. I could easily see them in the future having to split up to protect different corners of the world later on. The problem is, yeah, at first Sora was the only one with a keyblade, but that's because Keyblades were pretty much almost extinct. The whole point is that the keyblade is making a return, sort of like return of the jedi. I mean, you see what happened in kh1; sure, it only took one Sora to defeat Ansem, but before that, hundreds of worlds were destroyed over the years, and Mickey had to go find a keyblade of darkness. I'm kind of spewing random nonsense because I'm tired, but you catch my drift. The worlds have been in danger, and present danger calls for more than a few keyblade wielders.

I think I remember Nomura saying that their appearance in 3d would somehow lead to a sequel to TWEWY, but...that was a long time ago that I read that and I could very possibly be remembering wrong.

I would kill someone who came between me and ddd, just saying. I totally didn't share by DS when I played days, and I've only recently let Birth By Sleep out of my sight...

Hopefully, in KH3 they'll combine the large worlds with a large number of worlds. I think they pretty much pushed all limits with DDD (I heard taht Nomura kept saying, "We have so much memory!"), but on a PS3...well, endless possibilities.

Lol first time I saw that cutscene, I'm like, "OMG IT'S THE CASTLE OF Kingdom Hearts! OR CASTLE OF REALM OF DARKNESS! OMG WHAT IF MICKEY GOT HIS KEYBLADE THAR!" It was actually before I played the game (spoilers are a fanboy's best friend), so my derp moment doesn't count

OMG THAT IS SO AMAZING!!!!! I really like that Wally-Eva one especially, the finding nemo ones too, but they are all really neat human imaginings of them^^

A part of me just died inside reading that. I would like an hd remake, but I think new games would take priority; I don't know the full process of remaking a game for hd and how much they'd need to redo exactly for kingdom hearts games, but...it might be more than anyone feels like doing compared to making the next game in the series. It's different for a series like Kingdom Hearts, where its all continuous, as opposed to say remaking Final Fantasy VII, but...I think the focus will be either expanding the story or moving it forward. Unless, they add extra things...like perhaps Riku's or Mickey's story in KH1 and kh2...and Aqua's story as an addition to that like CoM was to KH2FM...hmm... probably not
