Sometimes you gotta realize that, the reason you buy a gaming console is to play the games that you like instead of hating on the negative stuffs all the time. Not everyone likes COD and not everyone likes KH. It all comes down to your own decision in the end and not based on others. Buy something that you will enjoy playing on, not hating on it.

Not all the time. Sometimes I use it as an excuse to be on bed the whole day. Felt really great the day after.

The console itself is alright. It's Microsoft themselves digging a deep hole. Downscaling in video games happens on the PS3 as well in terms of graphics. Sure it's a slightly superior console than the 360 but not by a large margin. MGS4 had to be upscaled to 1080P from a 1024X768 render resolution. As for the next-gen consoles, we'll have to see in the coming months to see how it goes, sure it's all about the specs but we have to see how the software will deliver in each console favor and sales wise. Only problem with microsoft now is that they're trying to mimic apple in a lot of ways. Kinda worrisome to be honest, but I hope I'm wrong. Like DC said, it's about the competition. Without the Wii, there won't be a major leap in motion gaming. Without the Xbox, there won't be online connectivity between friends. Without Playstation, there won't be great software games. They're pretty much helping one another unconciously and I'm ok with that. In the end, you're just buying them for the games. Not to talk crap about it all the time.

Just don't think and let it get to you too much alright. It's ok to be cautious, but yeah. Use your best judgement.

You can be nice to them if you want to but be cautious of them if what your friend said about them is true. They didn't do anything bad to you and you didn't do anything bad to them. Don't worry and just go along as usual. Be at a distant from them if you feel uncomfortable. Just remember that you know them more than us here and you have the better judgement here on what kind of character they are. (off topic - You became a Sec.mod! Congratulations! =D)
