  1. Slipknot drew me in with some of their subtler songs and then in the end I just ended up liking almost anything they made. I was always that kid everyone would least suspect to listen to that sort of music, too.
  2. Oh yes, most of us are quite aware of this. The plot thickens. >3
  3. =P Yeah okay, except then they have no idea how that happened because they really didn't do anything and suddenly the baby is Xehanort. Oh noes!
  4. Stop and think about the Organization and the X's in the name for a moment. Just like the X-Blade is like controlling all the Keyblades at once, I could see a man being made to hold all of the Organization's powers at once. In fact, with Xehanort's ability to possess people, even as a Heartless rather than a man with Keyblade flailing his arms about, and the Organization's means of spitting out clones like Repliku and mashup clones like Xion, I see it this way: Master Xehanort wants a new body. He clones himself. He's young again. And look at that, he's got a whole bunch of super powers. Yay or something. I honestly don't like it, but its a theory. Mysterious Figure flows about as canon as the Lingering Sentiment battle in KH2FM. Yes, the character exists. No, the character is not supposed to exist then or there, it is there purely for the purpose of fighting. (My question is, then, why weren't Vanitas Remnant and Mysterious Figure part of the Mirage Arena then, rather than left in-play for us stumble across? Alas, that doesn't necessarily mean anything.) And with Terra's random nonsensical flashforwards are in-play in Birth by Sleep, I also think something is really fishy about all of Birth by Sleep, to the point where, yeah, what if someone is really just from the future messing up the past? On purpose? Cutting off loose ends? What if absolutely everything would have happened the same way, except for one minor detail that ruins Xehanort in the end, and he went back just to fix that one, tiny thing? I believe it, the time travelling aspect. Even before I knew about the Mysterious Figure, I had that vibe - the Hall of the Cornerstone dive-into-the-past experience in KH2 only supports it further. The potential for it is there. Do I think Mysterious Figure is a time traveller? Personally? Yes. And to me, the hourglass keychain and clock motif on the Keyblade you win just seals it for me. As for the rest of your post... um.... well your guess is as good as anyone's. I personally think the time turning point might revolve around Mickey. I think Mickey might even 'see' himself and that causes his expression in one of the secret endings as he's walking the path in the Realm of Darkness.
  5. If we wanted to watch the scene in English, we'd watch it in English, except in those rare few cases the scene doesn't have an English counterpart - in those cases, a second download with subtitles, preferably a fansub translation of good quality, should be in place on the website. There is still a pressing need for subtitle-less video for those of us who make music vids and the like, first and foremost.
  6. And that, in the end, is the terrible pitfall of believers to begin with: mind over matter, they make more capable vessels for trouble than non-believers. I'm not gonna lie, this is kind of a problematic move on your part, as its psychological impact has a hold over you. But never fear! Perhaps the contract can be broken, you'll just need to catch the attention of something more powerful, and I think that's always an option if you don't like the current arrangement. Sounds like a common problem to me: A stronger figure coming along and stealing souls from what collected it in the first place, screw contracts, the old dealer is no more. Depending on the details, it might not even be an option. But its always the new demons that find soul collecting savvy these days, the older, watching figures of the world sit at their decayed temples waiting to spring up and parade around like it's the glory days, but they are not sleeping so much as they're in a state that their hands were forced. They cannot enjoy the world as they once did and that sort are looking for more interesting times... they don't just want your soul, they want to bend reality around them. Man, I sound like such a nut or devil-worshipper, but I'm not. I prefer to sit on the fence, and it really is perspective from here. It doesn't take an atheist to go 'I don't want to play this game.' I can believe and still scoff at the game, because, hey, at least I'm aware of it. It's your up-bringing that you really need to think about, not your current situation. Where is the bad in your life really coming from? Do you honestly deserve it? I'm fascinated in this sort of stuff so if you want to ring me up on a messenger and chat, be my guest. (I cannot help you, per se, but perhaps I can make you feel better/more at ease about it.)
  7. Dreams are funny like that. It wasn't a theory, just a dream. I get ones like this, too.
  8. !! You'd practically have to replay the game to get this alternate scene as it happens to compensate for Riku being possessed by Ansem. Basically: You can leave Monstro without completing it, wait until you've completed Hollow Bastion, and go back to it. Riku isn't present in any of the assist battles and Sora goes "Wait, what are you--" whilst Riku? goes "What? You don't remember your best friend?" And Sora responds with, "Liar, you're not Riku!" And the rest of the scene is basically there but cut short. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHf0evYnvew It's just one of those lesser known oddities that happens if you don't play the game in its proper order.
  9. I've got new art up on DA, Vanitas and Sora: http://fav.me/d476tcp

  11. ....yeahhhhh... name a Disney movie where someone didn't die. It's usually the villain but then they catch you off guard with things like parental figures. Hell. Meg dies. She still comes back, but hey, she died. We don't need a graphic death. They can gloss it over with as much 'darkness' as they like. It's only relevant that she does indeed die. I mean, why is Cloud even so emo and distant? It's not like anything serious happened he's blaming himself for. He didn't accidentally help Sephiroth destroy their home or anything, unlike the FF7 counterpart. =| Aerith isn't dead, Cloud, cheer up already. I think, yeah, definitely, if they have time for it, Aerith should die. But she should come back in another form and be all 'Oh no you didn't!' But I'm also going to require Jenova gets a KH-ified explanation and have something to actually do with Sephiroth, rather than this 'I am your darkness' nonsense with Cloud. Sephiroth is as much Cloud as Ansem is Riku. Not a bit.
  12. Package of cookies? ...worked on the last person.
  13. Well its quite clear some Pokemon eat other Pokemon. Sometimes violently. Like nightmare fuel violently. I'm looking at you Metagross, Gorebyss, Frillish, Glalie. There's a Pokemon wiki called Bulbabedia - those Pokedex entries, man. *shudder* Metagross: "Metagross is the result of two Metang achieving fusion. When hunting, this Pokémon pins the prey to the ground under its massive body. It then eats the helpless victim using the large mouth on its stomach." Gorebyss: "Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids." Frillish: "They paralyze prey with poison, then drag them down to their lairs, five miles below the surface." Glalie: "Glalie has the ability to freely control ice. For example, it can instantly freeze its foe solid. After immobilizing its foe in ice, this Pokémon enjoys eating it in leisurely fashion." I want to point out most of those Pokedex entries were from Pokemon Sapphire. Don't believe me? Look it up yourself. >__> What sort of children's game was I playing growing up, again?? Anthropomorphizing small cute animals: Children the world over suddenly with a desire to be vegan.
  14. Enjoy your stay. ^^ Things are going to get really exciting here come next time this month - there should be lots of new information coming in about the next Kingdom Hearts game from Tokyo Game Show 2011 (15th-18 of Sept) - so keep coming back for more!
  15. As much as I'm all for a Genesis reference, its bad enough Sephiroth is present with Cloud and the others in an alter-canon that makes not the slightest bit of sense because its far from its original FF7 context. If they're not going to bother introducing an official Jenova aspect to the series, then Genesis has no place there. Personally, I've been known to roleplay into that and studied Jenova in great length to think about how her existence would best mesh with the Kingdom Hearts canon - as a world eater, similar to a giant Heartless. Do I think any of it will actually be touched on officially? Probably not, and even if so, not with any real focus. The Sephiroth, Zack and Cloud of Kingdom Hearts must be treated as completely separate from their FF7 instances, and this includes losing connections to supporting characters like Genesis. (Afterall, Aerith is still alive, why's Cloud so emo? It's not like it was his fault their world was destroyed because he accidentally helped Sephiroth do it. It's just not - afterall, something that important would have been mentioned. ) Nothing that happened in the original FF7, or any of the Final Fantasies present in Kingdom Hearts, matters at this point, and their original canons can only be used to allude vague concept overlaps. =3 I do, however, hope for more information. That feather at the end of Birth by Sleep intrigues me, too.
  16. People in many countries also tend to have issues with how the U.S. handles its foreign issues, especially with the war and everything. But there are just any many people that remember that a country is just a landmass filled with citizens run by a government that they don't always have a lot of control over. We, the people, like to think we have a say in important issues. When it comes down to it - we don't get the final say. We elect people to represent us and they don't always do a great job. Just because our country has inherited generations of debt and sour foreign opinion it doesn't mean we wanted it to happen! We're just people. People are generally the same everywhere. We are a giant mass of individuals who don't deserve to be hated as individuals for things we have no control over. =/ When it comes down to it, a country does not make the person. A country is just where you're living. When people say they hate a country, its probably closer to saying they hate that country's government. (And *weak laugh* there are plenty of people sitting in their own countries who hate their own governments, too.)
  17. /lack of source. I form my opinions on facts. I merely explained why I believe what I do, not to start an argument. *Shrug* Both Vanitas and Ventus were helped by Sora. Without him, both are merely half a heart. With Sora, they are two hearts. Vanitas isn't dead, nor is he whole with Ven. He's a vital part of Ventus and he can't just disappear without killing him. They are both back to a state of relying wholly on Sora, unable to stand on their own. This is merely what I observe. The topic is Kairi. Riku's handing her a Keyblade is just as official as Terra giving one to Riku and Riku giving one to Sora: Riku can steal Sora's. He's only able to use it as long as Riku is allowing it, but the Keyblade also has a will of its own, and it will stay with the stronger heart. The master in a master-apprentice relationship is almost guaranteed to have the stronger heart and I'd see it as the right of any master to be able to reclaim any Keyblades they'd ever handed out if they felt they were being misused. I wholly do not believe Sora's Keyblade is Ven's. I believe he can use Ven's, though, and this is why he has two. This is only my opinion and the thread asked for it. I simply backed up why I believe it.
  18. According to you. According to Nomura: Of course, one must acknowledge that this is outdated (and thus the vague-ness that it was in 2004 has been much more fleshed out), Nomura constantly goes back on his word, and as many people complain, the official information he hands out is not to be treated as the word of god, despite the fact he's the one controlling the plot. Oh, but there's more: It's almost as if he means it exactly as you say it: It has to do with Ventus. But two? If you acknowledge it has to do with Ventus then you must acknowledge Vanitas is responsible for Sora having two, almost, and that neither are actually Sora's. =| But going by the first quote, Sora has the Keyblade because of Riku. Kairi also has hers because of Riku. *shrug* Believe either, and while you're at it, keep in mind the apparently 'non-canonical' fight between Sora and Roxas in KH2FM+ where Sora wields three Keyblades. Personally: Sora doesn't have a Keyblade anymore than Kairi does. If Kairi doesn't have one, Sora doesn't, by my standards.
  19. The rite wasn't properly performed for Sora, either. Are you saying you don't think Sora is a Keyblade wielder?
  20. I have a lot of weird dreams about Kingdom Hearts right before more information comes out about the series. Last night's dream happened on Destiny Islands. Sora during the day, playing in the waterfall and then climbing the rocks and then slipping and falling into the water... mm, water was warm, so nice.... then, it was night and I saw Vexen. And Xion. On the beach. And then Repliku on the bridge to the tiny island behind Vexen and, Xion threw her voice into Repliku and Vexen turned around and was confused and then Repliku called Xion Roxas and attacked her and. . . its all kind of fuzzy from there. Makes no sense. But dreams never have to, as a rule.
  21. From a historical standpoint, you might be wondering where the shift even happened - when did having multiple wives become the unusual thing, because, back in the day, that was absolutely common? The truthful answer is: The shift never happened in region our history shows it happening in. Multiple wives are common in the Middle East and Africa and it just never stopped happening. This is like asking why some animals mate for life and others change up every season. If you notice, people are like that, too - some of us stick to one partner, others never seem to settle down. Is it in our genetics? Humans from all different parts of the world have a different idea of what they deem to be natural - but because we've long since stopped thinking about ourselves as animals, no one's bothered to study the actual courtship habits of humans! From the standpoint where states are supposed to consider people who married in other states to be in a valid marriage even after they move across state lines and live in another state, similar is the upholding of marriage of foreigners entering our country. What even happens when they have multiple wives and they want to move here? How does the paperwork even handle that? Probably not legally, that's for sure. I'm of the opinion the world is overpopulated and going to hell in a handbasket. People should be together for romance, not sex (although sex is a great, fun experience) toward the purpose of having lots of children. I'm of the firm personal opinion that people should be allowed to do what they want: If that means being gay or lesbian, fine. If that means a guy with multiple wives or a woman with multiple husbands (why do we not hear of this?), fine. If that means you want to grow up and be a pornstar (o_O) and live on birth control, uh... okay, fine, that's none of my business. If that means a perfectly normal relationship, fine-fine. I don't personally believe people should have too many kids, but too many is an arbitrary factor. If they can financial support a happy household with five children - great! If they can't even support themselves, maybe they really shouldn't be having children. My point is: People should do what they want if they're not hurting anybody else - because, generally speaking, they're probably just going to do it anyway, even illegally, especially when no one's getting hurt while its all part of a consensual situation. There is no need to tell them no when its not going to stop them and there's no harm in it. It's actually kind of discriminatory and... well... downright shallow to enforce conformity to senseless rules based on opinion. If you don't want to do something: Then don't do it yourself. Do you really have to put yourself into other people's business? When in doubt: I side with the side that isn't meddling with the lives of strangers based on one's own personal preferences. Empathy people - use it.
  22. meh. brainsssssss.
  23. Can both play blu-ray dvds? That was the selling point for my newest laptop. I don't have any other way to play blu-ray disks and it was an excuse to get Advent Children Complete with its extra footage and all (*shakes fist at Squeenix* Really, blu-ray only edition?!).
  24. Oddly, with the scenes of young Master Xehanort, it'd be a pity at this point if we didn't see more of him like that, even for flashbacks. And think about it: If he actually got to take that form, wouldn't that just be creepy and easy to underestimate? I mean what if he introduced himself to Sora and Riku before they got warned about what to look out for - and he looks the same age as them? Oh yes, definitely want.
  25. Alas, as feeling like the only one over 20 posting is awkward enough, I must point out the fact you rented the movies after you played the game is both irrelevant and sad. I wouldn't have touched the game if I hadn't grown up on those movies. The only movie I hadn't seen was Nightmare Before Christmas, which was a huge fluke in of itself. You must have a really deprived childhood if you've never seen Aladdin, Hercules, Alice in Wonderland, Tarzan, Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, and Peter Pan. Not only did I watch them religiously before I was old enough to understand them, I watched them just fine all the way until I was 14 and that was the time I felt I outgrew Disney. It wasn't until two and a half years later that I was exposed to Kingdom Hearts and my first impression was that it was a children's game that I was too old to be playing. But I'm so glad I picked it up anyway, because nothing relieves stress like beating up villains I was terrified of at age 5. I am truly sorry you missed out on that experience and feel you must have lived under a rock. But on the same train of thought, yes, I went out and purchased some classic Disney movies in their new dvd format thanks to continued interest which must have inevitably stemmed from the Kingdom Hearts series. I'd not seen Beauty and the Beast since I was really little and so watching it at 18 after not seeing it in over half my life was like watching it for the first time and because none of my friends were there to see, I cried. /end fond memories rant Disney is more involved with the series than ever. If you look at the layout of Neverland in Birth by Sleep and turning on early morning children's television, you will see this very odd tv series that uses virtually the same layout of the island. The map for that adapted version of the area for the new tv show and the map that was used in Birth by Sleep ended up the same. And I'm pretty sure Birth by Sleep predated this show. Somewhere between Disney and Square there are collaborations going on that see the light of day in places other than the games. As disappointing as it was, Japan's version of Stitch (minus the Lilo) is another example. In the end, though, Disney has diddly to do with the game. They are part of the approval process - not the design process, and certainly not the producing process. Nomura is the true genius behind the entire project, where plot is actually relevant. I'm sure they all sit down and discuss what worlds will be used and pass out some general ideas of how the game's characters can interact with the Disney icons, but you have to realize this isn't what's most important about the game. In the end it doesn't matter what script goes down on each world, so long as the actual plot of the game is moving forward. Nomura designs the underlying plot in one go, and I'm sure its been in his head for years just waiting to show itself. Nothing so important is even capable of being ironed out and there is no giant negotiating process. The actual development of the game models and coding takes longer than the necessary Disney-related script discussion for minor non-plot related events. Disney is there to make sure they stay true to the feel of the movies, not restrict the creative process in such a way that would truly delay the game. The bulk of the delays comes not from negotiation but from the actual amount of time it takes to sit the model makers and coders down. Once the ideas are all on the table, the longest stretch is just the technical aspect. In the end, I have to say: You must be new. In waiting for 'KH3' Square has produced the original 'coded' cellphone game, KH mobile, KH2 Final Mix, re:Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, re:Coded, Birth by Sleep and Birth by Sleep Final Mix. There is no delay. They're just doing other things first. They don't want the series to end so fast, so they're drawing it out - and that's that. From the time Birth by Sleep was first announced it took four years to come out and that's acknowledging that were making three other Kingdom Hearts games at the same time, and I'm disregarding the fact they were working on FFXIII and Dissidia. It will not take us that long to get the next installment or the one after that because they won't be busy doing a handful of other projects at the same time. Disney isn't delays. The work it takes to make a game in of itself is a delay. They aren't magical. We will be getting KH3 in less time it took us to get Birth by Sleep and that's a fact. Nomura already put his foot down a few years back and expressed his desire to focus on Kingdom Hearts and not work on anymore Final Fantasy related projects until his baby was done first. But just because Nomura feels this way it doesn't mean his staff is behind him. These same people are hired out to work on games all across the board and if he can't get them to focus on Kingdom Hearts instead of those other projects - that's where the delay is and has always been.
