I've had a few jobs before, but they were all temporary positions. My worry right now is that me going to therapy is somehow on my record that hiring managers can see, and it leads them to not consider me.

Yeah I usually do that too, and what I get is usually around the lines of "We're looking at a lot of people right now" or "Sorry we went with someone else."

I think the reason I don't get any call backs from jobs is because I'm a mentally ill person and they don't hire based on that.

Think of it as like, The Basis for the Universe remains: Shadow is still the Ultimate Life Form, they still battled Biolizard, etc, but the details are much more hazy, which is why Sonic Team has been trying to fit it into the main canon to make up for the lack of details in the "reboot." Blaze from Rush and Blaze from 06 are technically two seperate characters. Sonic 06 was originally meant to be a reboot of the Sonic the Hedgehog series (or the start of a separate universe for Sonic,) which is why Blaze could appear and not be the same Blaze from the Sol Realm.

If we were to go by what the comics say, Echinda's were the only race. They became advanced, and expiremented on other animals, creating mobians. Not sure about humans though.
