The stupid accusation of: Derp Nintendo is paying everyone to give Breath of the Wild high scores......since when Nintendo ever had any sort of monopoly on game scores?GTA 5 got perfect scores and Last of Us got perfect scores too......Not everyone is bribing reviewers for high scores and heck I don't usually abide by game scores either high or low

I hate the hipster mentality of:If a game gets a good score or sells a lot then it's automatically bad and overrated.Not all top selling games are like this.Sure some shitty games can sell tons of copies and it's not hard for publishers to pay for high scores but those are not always the rule

I liked what I saw except for Huey Duey and Luey's voice acting and personalities The way they were in the original was fine instead they made them into snotty bratty millenials(no offense) and they're really annoying Heck they were used to sound a little like Donald(only more comprehensible) I like Scrooge's new voice enough but I will forever miss the voice that Alan Young gave to him(rest in peace)

I mean sure there won't be a point if everything is the same But for me instead of changing they should add rather than morph VII into a completely different beast that doesn't resemble what the game meant for people anymore I have a bad feeling that the dating sequence from the Gold Saucer or the little quest where Cloud prepares for crossdressing (including being massaged by macho men) will be removed for some reasons which might include trying to keep the rating below M Cuz if we reimagined the crossdressing sequence,all the gore the game displays from time to time,and the dating sequence in the Gold Saucer where you could go on a date with Barret would jack up the rating from T to M This type of pandering isn't new to Square,remember the scenes from XV that were removed like when Luna was abused by the empire when she was young during the trailers?

Not only that but Sora journeys together with Samus from Metroid and Pit from Kid Icarus around the universe to stop The Master of Masters and his legion of Final Fantasy and Nintendo villains from reaching Kingdom Hearts And over there you can see Kefka riding Ridley's back with the heart of Adam Malkovich from Other M in his hand THE PERFECT FANFICTION

I'm sorry but that's how it sounds from some replies I saw here again I don't mind different preferences but it feels like that's the only way they'd play another RPG.Unless it plays like Kingdom Hearts they won't teach it even with a ten foot tall stick It's like saying every shooter should play like Halo and every fighting game should play like Street Fighter And when people like this have a lot of influence on Square Enix's direction we end up suffering and the quality of the games suffer too when they don't know how to handle it There are lots of Action RPGs out there like the Tales Of series,The Witcher series and Dark Souls so there is already a multitude of options

Another thing The way you and some others here describe is like......you want to clone everything into Kingdom Hearts You want every franchise to be just like Kingdom Hearts and that's the only way it'll be appealing Sure it's fine to have preferences But if you want everything to be KH why not just..........stick to KH since it does it best Not everyone finds what KH does always appealing and not every Square franchise needs to be a Kingdom Hearts clone gameplay wise otherwise we'll be playing the exact same series just with a code of paint from another series I personally don't want neither Tabata nor Nomura(ESPECIALLY Nomura) to direct Final Fantasy games again.I want Ito to be given another chance cuz the last game he directed was XII and from the games he worked on he did a phenomenal job yet Square Enix squanders his potential

A strategy role playing game doesn't work on the same logic as an action game You can't expect everything to replicate real life logic The reason evasion stats like this exist is to give you the chance to dodge otherwise either you win all battles with ease or your enemies will stomp you nonstop Again,your opinion dude but don't paint it as "the opinion of the people" as if everyone agrees with you Mine was a subjective opinion too and I don't expect people to agree yet you here word your thoughts as if it's everyone's thoughts with statements like "That's what people think"....what does that exactly mean?

It's the same as an enemy dodging you an any game ever,except there are numbers to it And again,I hate the "I'm everyone" mentality where rather than try to convey your opinion you just paint it as something everyone said

the whole "you don't have to play previous games" is a lie coming from Nomura So far,besides KH1 and 2 there hasn't been a single beginner-friendly KH game when it comes to the plot cuz you have to play every single game Sure nowadays that isn't hard with 1.5+2.5 coming but back then you had to have the following consoles:Ps2,PSP,GBA,DS,3DS And budget issues aside the plot is now even more convoluted than before

Gladio and Prompto's chapters should've never been a DLC in the first place,it's literally making us pay for what should've been in the game from the get go. It's like if in Final Fantasy IX I had to pay everytime the party gets separated just so I'd know what's happening when I'm not playing as Zidane....it's bullshit

I'm not blinded by Nostalgia and there are legit big problems with XV I like XV but the game is riddled with issues that goes beyond what if it's Action or not,issues with writing,issues with AI,issues with pacing....etc Versus XIII doesn't exist,it's a canceled game that later on was reworked into a mainline entry.XV is Versus XIII and nothing will change that Action or not at least they should try to take what worked for Kingdom Hearts and apply it to FF without making a hybrid mess that is neither Action nor ATB but rather an awkward middle And no the changed from turn to ATB isn't as drastic as XIII and XV.the difference with ATB is just the fact that you have a bar that determines whether your turn comes after the enemy or not but besides that it was classic turn based combat

What I don't get with Square is that with Kingdom Hearts 2 they got the Action RPG formula right to a tea Yet they have a myriads of problems trying to apply that to Final Fantasy because the series was never built around depending on one character to win battles You need your party in both XIII and XV no matter how much the game tells you that you're fine controlling one guy. I'm not saying that they shouldn't try an action RPG FF again,I just hope games like the VII remake would have an AI that I can depend on rather than being a burden. Personally I think FF XVI should go back to the ATB system for one more time before doing action again with FF XVII And that's the problem,they're not going all out with it the same way franchises like Devil May Cry and KH does I found Goofy pretty helpful to be honest compared to Donald but still at least KH gave enough options to Sora so he'd be able to handle himself pretty well in combat no matter how many times Donald and Goofy dies.Compared to XV where you need to do those team up attacks and tech commands that you issue them yourself but your party keeps getting hit like dumbasses and dies more than you do heck just like you I healed them more than I healed myself If Final Fantasy XVI turned out to be an ARPG they gotta learn from what was wrong with XV,see what the competition did right and apply that to XVI Heck Gameplay and Story are two things that should go well together in tandum and complement each other rather than be a hinderence to each other If FF was just the story I might as well watch a movie or an anime and get the same result but the reason it worked so well for the first 10 games,SMT,Persona and the Legends of Heroes games is because when you control a party member,whether on their own or with the party,you kinda get to know them on a more personal level and how their approach to combat can be one of the defining aspects of their characters in FF9,even when the party is seperated I got to control all of them and see what they're doing without the need for it to be DLC like XV Same with 6 and how despite having over 14 party members they managed to make the 12 canonical ones so memorable and endearing and you got to control every single one of them It's the balance mix of story and gameplay that makes an RPG game a great experience,not just the story If the gameplay was bad I have no reason to waste 60$ on the game when I can just go look it up on youtube and get the same emotional investment Heck some creative developers can use gameplay as a visual story telling medium where through your gameplay and interactions with the environment and people you uncover it as you go along and be a big part of it rather than just have it be part of a cutscene only Sure everyone has their own interpretation of what a Final Fantasy game is depending on where they started.Obviously when most KH fans were introduced to FF they went to it with the same mindset they had for KH expecting the same action experience and being mislead by what they watch of games like Dissidia and XV.And when they say the most important thing is the story it basically shows that they don't entirely get how the series got as big as it is FF1,the game that saved Square Soft from bankruptcy,has one of the most basic if not THE most basic fantasy plot for an RPG at the time and the plot was nothing remarkable.But the gameplay on the other hand expanded upon what was introduced in stuff like DnD and Ultima.Multiple job systems giving you a wide variety of ways to replay the game.a battle system that at the time exercised strategy,thinking and careful observation of your enemies' strengths and weaknesses that would define the series for years to come reaching the peak of it's improvement with the ATB system starting from FF4 where they finally found the right formula to integrate the overarching story to the gameplay There is a reason you see speedrunners break world records in speedruns from FF4 all the way up to 9 with how much experimentation those games allow you to do heck for FF9 there is a weapon you can only get if you reach the final dungeon of Memoria within 12 hours.It's this experimentation and freedom given to the player that made Pokemon the juggernaut it is now making it the best selling RPG franchise and second best selling franchise of all time.It is the reason that the Shin Megami Tensei franchise with it's mainline and Persona games managed to resurface again to the mainstream JRPG scene It's fine for people to not like Turn base combat,but to say it's an outdated relic is complete bullshit when it's the reason the genre even exist.It's been a thing ever since the days of Tabletop Dungeons n Dragons which pioneered the RPG genre way before it made it's video game debut.It's still a profitable source and even Square kind of admitted that by creating the Tokyo RPG factory studio solely for making turn based RPGs that harkens back to the classic Square games of the 90s Evolving is done by improving and adding to the formula that is already established,it's why Pokemon is still the giant it is now and it's the reason why Zelda still gets critical claim with each and every entry.Not by completely changing genres and be bullied by industry trends to the point a franchise barely resembles what it used to be I want FINAL FANTASY now not DiscountWitcherSkyrimWannabeClone Fantasy
