  1. I easily chose handhelds, and no, I'm not kidding myself. And it's not because I play them on the go a lot, because I don't. Sure, portability's a big plus, but there's more to it than that. I live in a house with two little brothers, so it's nice to have my own personal system that they can't use without my permission. I don't have to worry as much about anyone deleting my save files, fighting over who gets to play next and for how long, or having the story spoiled for me because one of my brothers is further in the game and couldn't help but tell me all about what happens next, all of which are things I have to deal with when I'm playing a console game. Also, it's nice to just relax in the comfort of my own bed in the quiet of my own room, and unwind by playing my 3DS. Not only all that, but handheld games are cheaper, and because handhelds have less impressive graphics, the developers spend less time making the game look pretty, and more time on making it innovative and unique, something I believe is usually more important. Now, if you prefer console games to handhelds, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just don't go writing off handheld gamers as merely kidding themselves about how good their preferred method of gaming is compared to console gaming, because with at least some of those gamers, including myself, you'll be dead wrong.
  2. "Fine I guess." Winter said to Red Robin, "This time, my levitation belt didn't break until I got here, so that's a plus." Winter became a part of the team only recently and between a lack of time and not being very social back at the base most of the time, he didn't know most of the others very well. Sadly, this included his team's leader, Red Robin. [Oh well,] he thought, [as long as he's as intelligent as he seems, there shouldn't be much of a problem.]
  3. Winter stood a short ways from the rest of the group, awaiting the beginning of their mission. He watched as Ion and Derek made their usual dramatic entrances, and Sparrow had an intense argument with... herself. He just didn't get the whole split-personality thing going on with Sparow. [Man, we aren't exactly a very unified team, are we?] he thought.
  4. Sometimes, but not always, such as with IGN's review of KH2. Seriously, a 7.6? It deserves a much better score than that, at least from my perspective.
  5. I think that if Marvel characters are added into the KH games, it should be done in a simaler way as with the Final Fantasy characters. Seriously, if done properly, the Marvel characters won't feel any more out of place as the Final Fantasy ones. Besides, I really want to see a KH version of Gambit.
  6. (No, you're fine. It's just slow right now it seems. Don't worry though, I've got a feeling things are about to pick up.) "How would I know?" Penny asked in responce to Claire. She was getting annoyed at the whole situation, but there was something else too, she was afraid. She refused to let it show, but she couldn't shake the feeling this place couldn't lead to anything good. *** "Oh, I'm Rain. I'm a soldier of light like you." Rain said to the Nightwing squad. She then noticed a couple of the squad members gazing at their surroundings, and began to take everything in as well. To their left and behind them was a forest mostly made up of dead trees, and to their right was a swamp. In front of them was craggy field dotted in caves. Encircling everything was a ridiculously high range of mountains. acting as a massive wall. From where Rain stood, she couldn't spot any way to get past it, except for possibly going over, which seemed like a truly dangerous task. However, the mountains on every side seemed to be miles away. Suddenly she noticed how dark the ground looked beneath everyone else beneath her. It didn't take long for her confusion to change to terror, however, when something truly unexpected happened. Hundreds, if not thousands, of little shining yellow dots appeared on the ground. They would often disappear and then reappear, as well as move around from time to time. "Are those... eyes?" Rain asked, frightened for the first time since she'd realized she wasn't on the battlefield anymore.
  7. Wow, this is actually a pretty hard question for me to answer. Probably either Theatrythm Final Fantasy, or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, although I like plenty of my other 3DS games.
  8. Yeah, sure. At this point, there's plenty of random soldiers surrounding the other characters, so feel free to have your character join whatever group you want.
  9. (Just so everyone knows, I'm in charge of the locations in the Realm of Darkness, so I'd appreciate if no one makes up new locations to go to without my consent, in order to keep things organized. I never mentioned a dark lake, so for now, there is no dark lake. Also, I recommend that everyone read the last two paragraphs, regardless of what groups your characters are in.) "Well, I'm not sure, but I think it's the realm of darkness. Funny thing is, it seems people are having trouble making corridors of light and darkness, so we can't get out. Any ideas on what to do next?" Rain asked the group of rather handsome young men. *** "Well, unless you have any way of helping us, get out of our way. We've got... er... business to attend to." Penny said hastily to Reni, her keyblade still drawn. Penny was never fond of ending a fight until the other person was either defeated, or surrendering. *** "Heh, how should I know? I've never even been here before." Blight replied to Quint, not quite sure whether to keep fighting or call it a draw. "Well, whoever did this hasn't heard the last of me, that's for sure." he said, acting more confidently than he felt. *** "Well then, we should probably get going." Max said, "We'll have the advantage in a fight if we take the high ground, so we'll head towards those mountains. Any objections?" "Yeah, I've got a couple." Braxen said, "I don't know about you guys, but I'm hungry, and those mountains don't look like they have a lot of food. Let's go towards the forest instead." While Braxen said this, he pondered what Ari had just said. She mentioned that she merely assumed that they shared the same master, but that didn't make any sense, since there were so many different keyblade masters with the forces of darkness. Either his master had talked about him to Ari, and she didn't want Braxen asking what she knew about him, or the two of them didn't share the same master. Either way, she had lied straight to his face, and he didn't like that. He decided to leave the matter be, and worry about it later. "Your opinion is appreciated Braxen, but the woods will likely be crawling with monsters. It could be suicide walking in there." Max replied, a little annoyed that someone disagreed with him already. "Look, I'll do whatever, but if we all starve, I'm blaming you." Braxen told Max, and noticed something a little out of place. Earlier, the ground beneath him had looked dark, but now it was pitch black, despite the moon shining above them. In fact the ground under everyone's feet was black now, except for those that had wandered away from the main group, such as Rain and the Nightwing Squad.
  10. Yeah, although it looks like it works more like Port Town Ario Drive and Delfino Plaza did in Brawl. Either way, I'm excited.
  11. "Hmph, you just did." Robert said. He probably could have closed in on Bronshu and finished him off then and there, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He couldn't just strike an innocent man while he was down, it just didn't feel right. So instead, he just stood there, waiting for either Bronshu or Morgan to make the next move.
  12. "Hm... it would probably be best to get to some higher ground so that we can see any approaching enemies before they get to us. But first, there's something else that needs to be done." Max said to Iaix, and then looked at the three keybladers of darkness standing before him, Braxen, Ari, and Minus. "You three seem to be about as confused about this situation as we are. Before I let any of you out of our sight, I need you to promise me that you'll be willing to stop fighting us until we find a way out of here. If you all agree, I promise I won't start a fight with any of you either." Braxen shrugged his soldiers, "Sure, I'm sure they'll be plenty of enemy monster's heads to bash while we're here anyway." Braxen had already tried to summon a corridor of darkness himself, as well as use his keyblade glider, and neither of them worked. Meanwhile, Rain finally made it to the top of the hill, where she saw what looked to be a squad of keyblade wielding soldiers of light. "Um.. hey." she said the four young men, "Were you the ones who shot up the flare? What's wrong?"
  13. Robert was able to fairly sidestep Bronshu's tackle, but was still hit in the jaw by the hook punch. "Ouch, well that wasn't very nice." Robert said, and swung at Bronshu with a barrage of strikes from his bamboo rods.
  14. I may not know much about TMNT, it seems to me that they're going for a much too serious tone hers. I mean, come on, these are man sized bipedal turtles, and ninjas at that, who are trained by a giant rat to fight an evil version of Wolverine. Who in their right mind would decide to make a dark and serious movie about that?
  15. And here I was expecting to see something random, unusual, and a little weird. I feel cheated. In all seriousness thought, this song sounds pretty amazing, and if you listen carefully enough, you can notice Yoko Shimomura's handwriting all over this track. Thanks for posting this Jim, this was fun to listen to.
  16. (That does sound like an interesting character connection, but I was thinking that Braxen never met Ari before. Wait, I've got a way to make both of those things true.) Day 1 Remaining Survivors: 782 "What are you talking about?" Braxen paused for a minute before remembering reading a letter from his master a few months ago about his new apprentice. "Wait a second, are you the new pupil Master Mason wrote to me about? Cool! What did he say about me? Good things, or bad? He didn't mention that little mix up we had with that tribe in the jungle, did he? That was awkward to say the least." Chills raced down Braxen's spine just thinking about. "Wait, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, if I heard anything about this place before. I'm afraid not. I was never very good at geography." Max rolled his eyes at Braxen, "It's got to be the realm of darkness. It's the only known place where there's a moon this big. It signifies the daytime, and at night, there's nothing but pure darkness. The thing is, I've read about the Realm of Darkness, and it doesn't look anything like this. Well, not as far as I can tell. No matter, it shouldn't be too hard to get back. Soldiers of darkness, it's been fun trying to kill you all, but I must be going. Another time perhaps." Max said, and summoned his keyblade. He tried to make a corridor of light, much like he had over a hundred times before, but for some reason, it didn't work. "Strange... I haven't failed to make a corridor of light in years. I don't remember reading about this sort of thing happening in the Realm of Darkness." He then turned towards Power, annoyed and a little confused. [One moment he's trying to kill this girl, Ari, and the next he's flirting with her. What's with this guy? Bipolar perhaps?] he thought, but then decided to worry about it later. As Max continued to talk, Rain noticed a flair appear from a small mountain, more like a large hill really, nearby. She thought about telling Max, but she could tell he was busy worrying about where they were and how to deal with the soldiers of darkness. Instead, she slipped away from the group while most of them weren't looking, and headed towards the origin point of the flair. Penny flipped the hair out of her face after being knocked back by the shield, and nearly laughed when she saw Claire cast a fire spell, which clearly wasn't her specialty. [Hmph, must be a jack of all trades magic user.] she thought, and easily dodged the flames coming towards her. "Hah, you call that a fire spell? This is a fire spell!" she shouted, and shot a bigger and faster moving fire ball at Claire. So far, Penny was so engrossed in the battle that she barely noticed the change in location. As far as she could tell, neither did Claire.
  17. Accepted, but I'd like you to PM me the reason how Elia ended up with the other characters, and without any memory's of what happened. If you don't have a reason yet, PM me anyways and I'll try to help you figure out a reason.
  18. "Oh, sorry about that miss." Braxen said, and put Ari down. Most men would've felt embarrassed, but Braxen had acted like a fool around young women so many times before, that something as minor as this hardly phased him. "My name's Braxen, also know as Braxen the Bold." In reality, only a few of the soldiers called him that, and when they did they were usually making fun of him, but for now he decided not to mention that.
  19. Of all the weapons they could have picked as an item, I'm glad they chose this one.
  20. [Well then, she sure can take a hit. No matter, everyone has limits] Robert thought before attacking again. Robert closed in on Morgan, and came at her with a flurry of strikes, making sure to increase the density of his bamboo rods so they couldn't be sliced in two again.
  21. I allready have a 3DS, and I have no interest in buying a Vita, so no.
  22. (Not while in the Realm of Darkness, which is where everyone in the RP is heading, so no.) Mas rammed into Ari with his Keyblade glider, sending her flying even higher into the air, before quickly plummeting down to the ground. "That was some pretty impressive teamwork, if I do say so myself. Thank you, Power." he said. Braxen was about to spit out some witty remark to Iaix followed by a swift pummeling, but then he saw Ari falling to the ground, and changed his mind. "I'm going to save myself a lovely lady, that's what!" he shouted at Iaix, and sprinted to where Ari was falling. He got there just in time to jump into the air, catch her, and use dark magic to slow down their fall. "Why hello there, are you all right? I don't believe we've met. My name's Braxen." he said, trying to act as suave as possible. Blight was about to strike down Quint with his downward slash, when he dodged his strike at the last minute. [Dang, this guy's a lot better than I expected.] he thought, when suddenly the ground began to tremble, and the last thing he saw, the last thing everyone around him saw, was darkness swallow them whole. The battle was truly intense, the greatest clash between light and darkness to ever occur in the Keyblade War, except for the final battle at what would come to be called the Keyblade Graveyard. Not only that, but what all of the combatants didn't know was that Twilight Canyon, the location they were fighting in, was the site of a weak point between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. Because of these two things, the weak point was temporarily destroyed, causing hundreds of soldiers on both side of the conflict to be sucked into the Realm of Darkness. What they didn't know, however, was that they had landed in a particularly special part of the Realm of Darkness. One filled with savagery... and evil. As the darkness diapered, Max saw that he was in a different place entirely than where he was fighting. From his vantage point in the sky, he could spot mountains, rivers, dead forests, and more, illuminated solely by the light of the giant moon hovering overhead. He had a bad feeling about this place, it was dark... twisted even. He then realized something rather unfortunate. His keyblade glider quickly dissipated behind him, turning back into a keyblade, while he was still multiple stories above ground. He quickly fell, and was saved only by a girl with a staff using gravity on him right before he hit the ground. When the spell wore off, he gently dropped to the ground, and walked over to his rescuer, a friend of his called Rain. "Thanks for the assist Rain, that would've been a poor way for a hero to die." Rain merely rolled her eyes. "So... where do you suppose we are?" he asked. All around him were soldiers of both dark and light, apparently just as confused as he was. "I don't know, but I don't like it." Rain finally said. (All right evoryone, it's time for the RP to truly begin! Whether your characters react to the situation by talking with the others or by continuing to fight the opposing army is completely up to you. Have fun!)
