  1. Your favorite anime is shit.
  2. Well, to no one's surprise, ZeRo won sm4sh singles EVO 2015. But, there is an interesting tweet ZeRo sent out a while back. If you can't read it, it basically says ZeRo is going to focus on Melee for a year if he wins EVO. I doubt he's going to actually do this, but who knows.
  3. His videos aren't that bad. Granted, I've only watched a select few of his videos. The ones I did watch were fine though. I'm assuming you're talking about the scarf, which is something about how his mother gave it to him when he left Chile. His glasses I pictured above are a sponsor deal with Gunnar Optics.
  4. Speculation for who's going to win Sm4sh singles EVO 2015. This handsome motherfiretrucker. But really, no one really thinks ZeRo is not going to win. Nairo maybe has a chance, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to ZeRo's chances.

  6. Watch this anime. Right now. It's currently airing. Only one episode right now at the time of me typing this out. I'll even provide you a legal link to the anime. http://www.crunchyroll.com/school-live Don't read anything about it. Go into it without knowing anything. Contender for Anime of The Season. Hot damn.
  7. Strange concept. I wonder what exactly it will be about. A slice of life about the firefighters, with the spontaneous combustion as a side thing? A mystery with them finding out what's causing it? Just a regular battle shounen? It'll be interesting to see how he'll pull it off, at the least.
  8. Irregular got really boring, and not a lot of cool stuff happens besides the beginning and the end. Blue Exorcist is the better choice.
  9. We definitely will have some form of what happened at Apex. EVO last year had it. While Melee was on stream, the chat was spammed with "When's Mahvel?" and other things that basically said Smash was taking too long and that it wasn't worth putting at EVO. Now that two Smash games at in, tensions may run high. Here's to a good EVO.
  10. Some anime that recently finished up I recommend are: Hibike! Euphonium - High school concert band with some of the slickest animation I've ever seen and a nice dramatic story. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (Not the movie) - Great animation and nice fights. Challenges what it really means to become a hero. Shirobako - About the animation industry in Japan. Gives you a silly behind the scenes look on what it takes to make an anime.
  11. More exposure for this anime is always welcome. Here's hoping Sentai doesn't mess the dub up too badly.
  12. I've been keeping away from spoilers, mainly because I can't be bothered trying to piece everything together from the snippets I get. Difficulty alone it would have to be Nohr. I already forgot all the character designs because they look pretty generic anime stuff. I'll probably remember them all when I play through the game though. Thinking about how an adopted child would feel when spending almost all of his life living with his adopted family and suddenly finding their biological mom/dad. I would be pretty happy I got to see them, and maybe keep close contacts with them, but I don't think I would choose to live with them, since they aren't really my family in a sense.
  13. I'm not really sure how this will bring new life to the Mario and Luigi franchise, since they seem to be sticking with the same mechanics, just with an additional Paper Mario. Really, you could've just played Partners in Time and you'll have essentially this game. Only looks to add new Bros. Attacks so far. Here's hoping we get something better than what we've seen already.
  14. Yo, Roy is actually pretty damn good, not what I was expecting at all, especially after seeing how Mewtwo played basically like his Melee counterpart. Fsmash sweetspot is around 20%, and it's easier to land compared to Marth's. Basically he's a better Marth. New main. Ryu is what the competitive fans dreamed of. He's one of the few people who can actually combo, and the combos are on purpose too. Even if you don't use Ryu optimally by utilizing his original Street Fighter inputs, he still packs a huge punch with that Up smash and Up B. Sounds like a way better Little Mac, though Mac is faster and has super armor on his smashes. Lucas is a worse Ness, in my opinion. That doesn't mean he's bad though. Up air still does an alright amount of damage, and he has a grapple grab. His neutral air is always fun to do. Also, his Up smash, if you ever land it, is so damn satisfying. Very happy with these DLC characters. Do not regret buying them at all.
  15. Ryu seems super fun to play as. Roy wasn't needed at all, but he looks a lot better from his Melee design at least. I'm still buying him anyways since Roy's my boy.
  16. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I think a major flaw is how much you have to rely on teammates yet there is no voice chat. It's a pretty integral part for working together, but it's missing, so you'll just have to assume the others know what to do. I also don't like the lack of local multiplayer support aside from the 1v1, but I understand the limitations behind it. I heard there will be more game modes coming soon, so that'd be fun.
  17. I pointed out the fanservice as an example. What I'm trying to point out is low quality anime. Low quality meaning lazy writing, poor animation, and sporadic pacing. Fanservice may be a contributing factor, but I'm more worried about the other stuff I listed. I was talking generally, not just the United States. It could become mainstream in the U.S., Russia, Australia, France, any high population place and it will affect the anime industry, because, like I said, it's for the money, not our tastes. I don't think they are xenophobic at all actually. Japan is very westernized, so I don't see how they are xenophobic, but not the point. Those companies are smart, listening to the fanbase. The fanbase that gives them money. Of course they would get the license for the acclaimed anime, they know it will sell. But the audience for anime in the U.S. is relatively small, especially the paying audience. I'd argue most of the recently airing anime aren't praise-worthy at all, but again, not the point. Both Japan and the U.S. companies aim to make money. That's the ultimate goal. So they will be smart with anime, at least in their eyes, by finding the best ratio of how much work they put in versus the amount of money they get out. If anime becomes mainstream, the balance will be tipped to have low quality versus high money. I don't believe I mentioned anything about U.S. companies unrelated to anime affecting the anime industry. That's not what I'm saying. Continue to support the anime industry. I know it's in need of it. I won't shame anyone getting into anime. But, I'm against the whole idea of it being mainstream, because of the reasons I stated before. It sounds contradictory, I know, but I'm honestly not trying to discourage people getting into anime. Awful is subjective or objective, depending on the context. If I were to say, "This human feces tastes great!" is it suddenly good? No, obviously it's objectively awful tasting, because it's literally shit. I'll take Sword Art Online as an example. The anime is "mainstream" in regards to the anime community. I see the anime is full of bullshit. For example, the obvious harem that is introduced halfway through the first arc. They waste so much valuable time on those girls that could've been invested in the relationship between Kirito and Asuna, but instead, we got a bunch of girls who fall in love with him because he's high leveled and romantically oblivious. There are more problems with it, but I found a handy list of a bunch of things wrong with the SAO anime. Oh, and here's one for the second season, just for kicks. And don't excuse the anime's shortcomings because that's how it was in the source material. If the anime studio had cared about quality, they would've either made it better or never touched it in the first place. So, SAO is riddled with bad writing and bad pacing. Why is it so popular then? It's because it panders. It gets a cool sounding idea and just writes it like a 15 year old imaging what it would be like if he were a Gary Stu. It's a huge powertrip. It might be entertaining to you, but, to be brutally honest, you don't know what makes a good anime. I apologize if I typed a bit of gibberish. I'm very sleepy. I just wanted to type this up real quick. Edit: Cleared up some of my points now that I'm rested.
  18. Here's my line of thinking. You know how there's fanservice everywhere in anime? Like, you'll be hard pressed to find any currently airing anime that doesn't have fanservice. And I mean the nakedness and shit like that. This happens because the anime industry panders to its audience that pays. Usually it's the otakus or the like who would pay a whole lot of money to get some figma of their waifu. The anime industry has to pander to that audience because that's who pays their bills. So, they give perverted material to the perverts. Now, to come back to my wish that anime never becomes mainstream. Mainstream is a difficult word to define. Maybe I even used a poor word to describe what I don't want to happen. But, I'll define it as "A person completely new to the medium," because this is the point I want to get across. If it becomes mainstream, people who have nearly no idea what makes a good anime will be dishing out money to almost every anime, be it good or bad. So, most companies making anime will see this trend, say "Shit, our awful anime is printing money, let's make more of that kind of anime," and the whole medium will be going down the drain. Of course, some companies will continue to make good anime, but it will be drowned out by the bad stuff, because that type of anime just easier to make. As another example, a few years back, and even now, though less prevalent, was the "Moe-blob" genre. Basically, if you seen K-On, that but a lot more boring. A bunch of cute girls doing cute things. One of those anime by itself may be good, but if you were forced to watch that almost all of the time, that would be boring. Those anime are relatively low effort compared to anime that is actually well written, well animated, well executed, and all that jazz.
  19. Anime should never be mainstream.
  20. Parasyte - I didn't mind the electronic soundtrack. Monogatari Series - I'll give Second Season a try, but so far it's been bleh. Angel Beats - Bad. Gosick - Awful in the second half. Log Horizon - Overrated. It's still okay, but not that good. Angel's Egg - Pretentious as firetruck and isn't good. Ouran High School Host Club - Not that funny. I dropped it halfway through. Akame ga Kill - I like how stupid it is, but that's about it. Anohana - Stupid as hell, but damn if I didn't cry at the end.
  21. I knew I forgot to mention something in that quick write up. It's fun playing catch in Mewtwo dittos with a fully charged shadow ball. I always mess up the timing though. T.T
  22. I'm horrible with Mewtwo. He has so many recovery options too. Insane jumps, teleport, side b boosts him up a bit like Mario's cape, and a fully charged neutral b pushes him back a bit. But none of that matters since he's going to be launched all the way out to the blast zones anyways. His smashes are great. Up smash actually keeps them inside until the end of the move, unlike Zelda's. Forward smash racks up a nice amount of damage. Down smash pops them up, so you can follow with an aerial. His tilts have insane range. Up tilt covers the top of you, and can be used to pop them up. Same with Down tilt, but covers in front of you. Forward tilt is unnecessary, since the other two are better. Forward air is deceivingly strong. It's a great option for a KO, if you can land it. Up air has great range, but lacks knockback, which makes sense. Back air is way too slow to come out for my liking. Down air is satisfying to land, but awful if you miss. Neutral b doesn't have a hitbox when charging it. Does a nice amount of damage when fully charged though. Side b sort of sucks, if your opponent knows how to get out of it. (Tech it.) If they don't know, it's a free forward smash. Down b is hard to land, and it's useless when they are at low percents. Side taunt makes him look like he's upping his power level. 9001/10
  23. I can't help but draw comparisons between Koufuku Graffiti and Shokugeki no Souma. The orgasms to the food are vastly different, and the general feel of both are different. Graffiti has a comfy and a very slice of life feel to it, while Souma has a very exaggerated and intense feel. I prefer Graffiti so far, but I'll keep watching Souma and see how it goes.
