Update 9/1: The information in this article has been updated following the listing on the Japanese Square Enix Store website. Square Enix has announced a brand-new FORM-ISM figure featuring Axel as he appears in Kingdom Hearts II. The figure is set to come out on December 26th, 2026, and is available for pre-order on Hobby Genki and AitaKuji for ¥9500, which is approximately US$59.33 in today's rates. The figure is also available for pre-order through the Japanese Square Enix Store as well for ¥11,000, or US$68.81 in today's rates, and on AmiAmi for ¥9,900, (approx. US$61.96). The full dimensions of the figure are approximately 80 mm x 140 mm x 190 mm. (Which is approximately 3.14 in. x 5.51 in. x 7.4 in. when converted to imperial measurements) According to the Hobby Genki listing, this Axel figure is "sculpted with incredible dynamism, his iconic Organization XIII coat flutters dramatically as he leaps into action, standing approximately 190 mm (~7.4 in.) tall." Today, Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has released a brand-new interview with Tetsuya Nomura and Tai Yasue. The interview focuses on a lot of things, from the size of Kingdom Hearts IV's script to some of the things that were shown in the trailer. Together with KH13 translator corfidbizna, we've translated some of the more important points of the interview. We plan to update this article as we dive deeper into the interview itself. [UPDATE - 27/08/2026 - We have updated the translation with some new details, and rearranged some of the points.] 1. Japanese voice-overs have already been recorded, with English recordings still ongoing. Tai Yasue mentions they're about 60 to 70% done. According to Nomura, Kingdom Hearts IV’s script is nearly double the size of Kingdom Hearts III. 2. Development of Kingdom Hearts IV is progressing smoothly, with no risk of a delay 3. Kingdom Hearts IV’s worlds are some of the biggest we’ve ever seen in the series yet, but Nomura also seems to imply that they're shorter in length. 4. During today's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced that the Kingdom Hearts games are all coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026. Owners of the cloud editions on Nintendo Switch can port their save file over to the Nintendo Switch 2 version, and in addition, a bundle called the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], which contains all the games, will also go on sale at the same time. [Update 10/6/2026]: Square Enix has announced that the cloud versions of the Kingdom Hearts games have now been delisted from Nintendo eShop. Players who own those titles can play them until June 9, 2027, and are eligible for a special discount when purchasing the collection. Furthermore, Nintendo Switch players can still purchase both Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX- and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue as native ports, rather than cloud versions. Lastly, a demo version of Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind has just released on Nintendo eShop. Premium Bandai has recently revealed a Kingdom Hearts Keyblade is now available for pre-order exclusively in Japan from now until December 1st, 2025. The item is set to release sometime in March 2026 for ¥9.900 (approximately $66.59 USD). Unfortunately, this item seems to be exclusive to the territory, with no international shipping available. In fact, the item page itself requires a Japanese VPN to be viewed. According to the product's official page, the Keyblade is about 50 cm (19.69 in) long, and it can play both DEARLY BELOVED and Sora. Furthermore, it includes an LED lighting mode called Magic Mode, where you can cycle through different colors and intensities, each corresponding to a magic spell: Red for Fire, Blue for Blizzard, yellow for Thunder, green for Cure, and so on, complete with sound effects of the spells. It even includes sound effects for the saving, opening and closing doors, and the item obtained sound effect.
