Naruto is Over! (Technically)

Posted

After 14 years, the canon material from the official manga for the entire Naruto series has been completed. The only canon material from the manga that is left is the epilogue chapter-chapter 700, which we won't see for a long time.

Naruto Shippuden will still continue with flashback filler and adaptations of the light novels- Sasuke Hinden, Naruto and Hinata's wedding and Shikamaru Hiden, the epilogue chapter (chapter 700) as well as the Boruto manga and the Naruto Gaiden manga. But the main story has finished.

It's been 14 whole years since the original Naruto anime first aired on TV. A show that inspired millions to pursue their dreams and never go back on their words no mattter how tough things may seem. It's the end of an era and this year has put our old shounen pals to rest.

The Bleach manga came to an end end, the canon material for the Naruto Shippuden anime is over, Nisokei ended, Kochikame ended and Toriko will probably end this year by the looks of things. Fairy Tail is presumably in the final arc and One Piece is down to it's last 600 or so chapters (That's not much for One Piece)

Anyhow, Naruto is still an epic in my opinion and will always be a must watch for any anime fan (and a must read for manga fans).

Thank you Masashi Kishimoto and Studio Pierrot for teaching us all the true nature of the shinobi!

I'll have to watch Naruto in 10 years when they make the whole thing from canon material. that last battle was epic though.

Regarding the end of a shounen era, we've still got Dragon Ball Super to fill the void. It's not all hopeless!

I don't care about Dragon Ball so that doesn't do much for me xD

My Hero Academia fills the void of Naruto and so does Black Clover.

The manga that took Bleach's place is called Red Sprite and it's quite good. There's also the Promised Neverland which is also pretty good.

Is it sad that I read that as "Back Cover" at first glance? Methinks I'm a bit too excited for KH 2.8.

Regardless, I've heard some fantastic things from a friend about My Hero Academia. Maybe I'll give that a shot while I wait for One Punch Man's second season.

It will surpass Naruto one day, you should definitely read it.

Black Clover is a mix of both Naruto and Fairy Tail but it isn't as good as MHA.

I thought he was getting a Boruto series.

And I thought Naruto ended like six months ago.

If you read the OP I did say that the canon story from the canon manga has been adapted completely. All that is left is the epilogue chapter and everything else is just bonus content to fill in gaps.

And no it didn't end 6 months ago lol

woah, what other canon material is there? I've only seen up to Boruto!

What? I just said all the canon material has been adapted dude. The only canon material to the canon Naruto manga that is left to adapt is the epilogue chapter-chapter 700. Read the OP, It's tedious to retype sentences.

There actually is still some other canon material that's going to be adapted: there were some novels that filled the gaps between Naruto and Boruto, and then there's the spin-off manga about Sarada, too. This is the end of the main series, they're just going to adapt some side content a little later down the line.

Anyway, on the subject of the anime ending: Naruto was a really important part of my life for years, and seeing it end has been really... strange. I'm loving Boruto and I'm excited for the future anime content that's coming up, but nothing can really replace seeing Naruto's journey from the #1 unpredictable knuckle-headed ninja to the Seventh Hokage.
