So rewatching some cutscenes from KH2, I caught something that really hasn't been explained too well so far. While explaining things to Sora and co. about how Ansem Seeker of Darkness was actually an impostor and his Nobody, Xemans, was the leader of Organization XIII, Mickey then goes onto say that he had not only met the impostor (Xehanort, which is shown in a later cutscene), but he had also seen Xemnas as well. Only, that's all we hear of it, at no point in any other game do we ever find out when he would have had the opportunity to have at least seen Xemnas, let alone find out he was in charge of Organization XIII. Clearly not a whole lot of Riku and Mickey's exploits during the year Sora is asleep have been covered so far, at most we only kind of know what Riku has been up to, acting as DiZ's field agent, but Mickey doesn't even show up in Days until near the very end, and that's only so Riku can explain why he won't be around as much later on. So when could Mickey have possibly come across Xemnas in whatever time there was between his discovering of the threat of the worlds and his eventual encounter with Sora and co. in KH2?

We're talking about a whole year here. Since we don't see what Mickey's been up to, it really could have been anytime. He could have been doing some recon of his own. He might have been working with Riku and DiZ trying to figure out what the heck they were facing. Honestly, I don't really think it's that important when he ran into Xemnas, as much as it is that he did. I think we were just supposed to take Mickey's word for it.

You know, this is actually very interesting!  It's true that Mickey mentions having seen Xemnas, but it's never been expanded upon! Maybe it's because he didn't directly encounter him, but rather saw him from a distance, or maybe he was spying on the Organization members doing something and Xemnas showed up!  Or it could simply have been a chance encounter!

 

But then again, as old man Xehanort says, destiny is never left to chance! B)

don't Nobodies typically look identical to their original selves, save for a few (sometimes laughable) differences? 

 

xemnas looks similar enough to his original self to where Mickey might recognize him.

That's what I was thinking, but it sounds like Mickey said he had seen Xemnas as Xemnas?

 

 

Also they probably crossed paths while grocery shopping. That's my theory anyway.
