Are they gonna remaster this for the Nintendo Switch?

Obvious Square doesn't care about the Xbox and I wouldn't be surprised at the point that we get the Nintendo Switch version for this

I'm not sure if it's about caring for a console or not. Maybe Sony has the exclusive rights for Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, that's why it can't be released on other platforms.

Why would Square use time and resources to essentially remake an entire video game series to work on Nintendo architecture? Seems like a hassle to me. It also wouldn't make much sense, considering the majority of fans would buy it for the PS4. Sure, it might be a move that satisfies you specifically but that's not what Square cares about; they care about what kind of return they would get.

Unless they have the interest and time to do that, I don't think they will. First off, the whole point of the remasters was to unify the series onto one console (I've already mentioned before how I feel that announcing KH3 for XBone as well was more of a rushed afterthought, since they aren't making any attempts to bring the HD experiences to Xbox), so it's kind of a moot point to that effect to bring it to another console. Again, unless they really really wanted to. Second, it's pretty rare for companies to suddenly try to make a team work on the same project again as soon as the console is formerly announced, unless it turned out that they already got the dev kits ahead of time and always intended on bringing it to that system in the first place. My point is that usually it all has to be planned far in advance, FF XIII wasn't confirmed for PS3 first and then they decided to confirm it for Xbox 360 a year or two later, they made it clear at announcement that they were going to make it for both systems. Maybe you could argue that they wanted to wait for the Switch to be formerly revealed to the public, but look at Sonic 2017, before the Switch was even revealed they still listed the tentative NX logo among the other systems it's going to run on, so clearly it wasn't even necessary to wait for the Switch to be fully revealed to gain potential interest from a Nintendo audience. So unless they have the interest, time, and means to do so without complicating whatever other plans they already have in motion right now, I don't think a port to Switch is going to happen, as much as I would love to literally take console powered KH games with me wherever I go.

i doubt it. PS4 has a more developed install base and the Switch doesn't. at least not right now, obviously.

it's more of a worthy investment to just put all the games on to the PS4, especially since KH3 will also be there.

fans have always complained about how the series is spread across too many consoles and SE have responded by putting the entire series on PS4 (i mean, wait a few months and then that'll be the case). so really, when 1.5+2.5 come out for PS4 they can throw there hands up and say "Alright that's that. Time to move on!" and not give the Switch a second thought.

It would be too much hassle and it would waste time. So, no.

Maybe after Kingdom Hearts III releases, there'll be a port of 1.5+2.5 for the Switch, but I don't think they'll make a port now, ya know? I need Square to be focusing on Kingdom Hearts III! D:

Unless Nintendo are willing to do the porting to the system themselves, then nope, it's not going to happen.
