In the E3 2015 trailer there were 3 dates that the calendar could have been

 

October 2015,

December 2016

March 2018

 

October 2015 meant nothing since nothing substantial happened.

December 2016 was meant to be for 2.8 but the delay happened. Looking at KH3 now, March 2018 is perfect but I think it'll be pushed to May or June. The calendar would have lined up quite well otherwise.

Dunno if the calendar really had any meaning. But now with the delay of 2.8 it has even less

i think the fact that October was an uneventful month for the series supports the idea that the calendar is just a background object with no real meaning. anything else is like grasping at straws.

Either the calendar doesn't have a meaning or maybe it's an October calendar to symbolize Nomura's birthday being in October? 

 

It's just a guess I've been thinking of ever since the whole calendar thing was mentioned in 2015.

Yes, its pretty much october 2015 - we got news, december 2016 - we were going to get 2.8 but didnt because of ffxv (btw, GOD that game is so good), and March 2018 - KH3. Don't be surprised when it gets confirmed as a way to end the 15th anniversary my guess: worldwide march 22nd 2018. You heard it here first guys.

I don't know if it has any big significance because if it comes out and we have that scene in the game, it won't matter especially if it comes out in a month that doesn't match the trailer month.

Yeah it may have just been a troll move.

Square likes to release games on a Tuesday. 
They could release it on the 7th of November or the 13th of December.

Guess what our month December 2017 is the same as the calender.

The calendar probably doesn't mean anything. The games wasn't far enough along in development back then for them to know the exact month that the game would release. And since they seem to just release news on a whim, I doubt it was related to any kind of reveal either.
