Hello everyone, it's been a really long time since I last posted!

 

Something has been confusing me lately, and that is trying to figure out when exactly Aqua's story in BBS 0.2 takes place.  As we know, she has been in the Realm of Darkness for an incredibly long time, at least 10 years (though time in the ROD flows differently, so who really knows?).  We were able to first see her journey in the ROD in BBS' Secret Episode, which I still have not been able to play through yet, regrettably. 

 

My question is, when do the events of 0.2 take place, exactly, relative to the events of the Secret Episode?  Or, are these events not directly connected to each other?  I'm not even sure that the Secret Episode was actually the start of Aqua's journey in the ROD, or towards the end of it.  Any help with clearing up this confusion would be greatly appreciated.

it seems to take place right after the secret ep in Birth by Sleep final mix. As to when it'll end who knows. We know that Aqua's meeting with Ansem in bbs secret ending takes place after 0.2  but the question is if we'll see this part In 0.2 or we will go past it

The Secret Episode of BBS takes place right after the cutscene of the Final Episode, i.e. when Aqua is saved from Ven's and Terra's Keyblades.

 

Given that Aqua will travel through ruins of Castle of Dreams, Enchanted Dominion and Dwarf Woodlands, it shows that 0.2 will start at some point before KH1, since Heartless had taken over these worlds and Maleficent captured their respective princesses.

 

Seeing as Aqua will arrive at the Destiny Islands from the end of KH1 implies that these events will continue on during the events of KH1.

 

Finally, seeing as Mickey will separate from Aqua at some point, these events will most likely take place during the events of COM, since Mickey escapes the Realm of Darkness and reunites with Riku in Castle Oblivion after finding the Twilight Town card.

 

It's possible that the game will end with Aqua meeting Ansem the Wise, therefore after the events of KH2. It might also be possible that it will end afterwards, with maybe her being saved or something along those lines.

Or it might ends after 3D while Sora sees Aqua.

Makes sense you need to play 3D before 0.2.

pretty sure it starts right after the secret episode in BBS: FM and it has to end sometime before KH2 at least, because this is a flashback that we're being told by Mickey. he was definitely out of the Realm of Darkness by KH2.  

My guess would also be sometime after the secret episode.  As for the time in the Realm of light?  I got no clue on that one.

It starts right after the end of BbSFM and goes all the way up to the beginning of KH3 (can't believe that actually).

Thanks for all the replies, folks!  It seems that we may not know for sure until we see how 0.2 ends, or until a developer (or Nomura himself) clarifies the chronological order of events.  For now, I will just go with 0.2 taking place after the Secret Episode.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the short teaser trailer for what was going to be BBS Vol. 2 play right after the Secret Episode?  I remember seeing it a while back, and it showed Aqua looking at what appeared to be Cinderella's Castle. 

 

I find it very interesting that we will be able to revisit "dark" versions of the worlds we explored in BBS.  This game may actually show us what exactly happens to a world once it is consumed by darkness.  I know that KH1 showed us the absolute destruction of Destiny Islands, but not what it was like after the Heartless had devoured it.

Il takes place during Kh1, at the end of the game mickey finds kingdom key D and We see the end of KH1 when he closes the door with sora and riku

0.2 happens after BbSFM's secret episode. However, since Mickey implied in a 0.2 cutscene that it has been 10 years since they last met in the outside world, one would think that the time in the realm of darkness is flowing faster than the realm of light, since the end of 0.2 happened right at the end of KH1.

 

 

 

Since Terranort, not Xemnas (whom DDD revealed as having his own Heart, albeit a sociopathic-son-of-a-b***h one), is the one Terra fights off, it's safe to say the scene where she finally reunites with him and Ven (albeit only briefly) in the ROD = before Terranort becomes Ansem SOD and Xemnas in the ROL.

But that would imply a huge time jump - while possible with Aqua being grabbed by that huge monster, it hasn't been made really clear that there is a time jump after their reunion. After all, the split to Ansem and Xemnas already occured 9 years prior to KH1. So for that to be the case, the time either flows very irregularly or Aqua must've been unconscious for the entire time before Mickey got to her.

 

I think it's only Terranort to signify that Xehanort still has his hold over Terra's body - also, Terra told her that she sees him the way she remembers him, Aqua has no recollection of Ansem or Xemnas, but she does of Terranort.

 

And I suppose X Back Cover takes place in the 16th century?

Thanks for the heads-up about the timeline placement being a spoiler!  I will be sure to pay very close attention when I finally play through BBS 0.2.

 

In other news, I plan to very quickly finish Aqua's story in BBS, complete the Final Episode, and hopefully unlock and complete the Secret Episode, all before KH 2.8 releases.  Think I can manage that?  I would certainly like to, as it seems to make more sense to play the Secret Episode before 0.2, from what I understand.
