Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, as the question postulates, how many of you have played all of the Kingdom Hearts games up to this point?  When it comes to me, I've played every entry in the Xehanort Saga so far, and am currently playing Unchained X and awaiting 2.8!  So I'm caught up till now story-wise!

 

What about all of you? Have you played all the games, or are you still catching up?

 

I just wanted to make this poll to see how many people are caught up, to see how many will understand Kingdom Hearts III's story!

Played every game except for the original CoM and also Riku's part in Re: CoM. One could say I'm not a fan of the card system But I watched the cutscenes of Re: CoM several times cause I like the story.

I haven't played Days or Re:coded on the DS. I've just watched the cinematics from the ReMIXes. I've played all the others though!

 

Edit: Haven't played DDD either but I've watched the cutscenes so I know the story. But 2.8 should amend that!

Ah, so you're caught up to speed, then! That's awesome! Once 2.8 is out, your catching up shall be complete!

 

Unless you count Unchained χ- in which case I've only played the pc version- I have in fact played (or at least was present as my elder brother played) all the Kingdom hearts games.

 

Personally I feel as if you don't necessarily need to play all the games to be caught up on knowledge haha. It helps for sure but its nothing youtube can't fix.

 

Nice!  And well, yeah, if there are fans that don't have the systems to catch up to the series, they can always watch Let's Plays on Youtube! I just think that skipping out on just one of these games feels like skipping episodes in an anime, ya know? And I don't like skipping any episodes! X3

 

I've played everything but the Final Mixes, GBA Chain of Memories(started but never finished it) original coded, KH X for PC, and V-cast if you even count that haha.

ok, so Ive played 1 and 2, com on the gameboy, 358, bbs, recoded, and 3d. However I've not played re:com, any of the remixes(so no fm), unchained, and 2.8. So I think almost caught up. All my knowledge of unchained related things comes from watching back cover though (yes I've spoiled myself, I couldn't resist!) . so yea. I feel like the only person here who isn't playing unchained lol.

 

Ah, so aside from the new content, you've caught up to the series! Lol, and I don't think you're the only one not playing Unchained X. I'm sure there are lots of other people that haven't gotten that game!  But yeah, for those who haven't played the game, Back Cover should provide some insight!

 

DDD is the only one I haven't played though KH2.8 would be up there since I don't own a ps4

I have and done it in both Japanese and English for KH, KH2, Birth by Sleep, Dream Drop Distance and 0.2.

 

Oh wow, I see! In both English and Japanese, huh? That's impressive! I stick to my English though, so I've never played any of the KH games in Japanese! X3

 

I've played everything except the original Chain of Memories, PS2 Final Mixes, original Coded, V-Cast, PC Chi, and 2.8 (but I will be playing it next Tuesday )

 

That's okay, the ReMixes and 2.8 will catch you up to speed!  OMG MAN, AND 2.8 IS ALMOST AROUND THE CORNER, I CAN'T WAIT!

 

i've played all of them and i think this is the only game series that i've followed so closely for so long, which is crazy to me. 

 

not crazy in a bad way, it's just crazy how this one franchise has been relevant to me for so many years and i'm still keeping up with it. 

 

Haha, I know the feeling! Of all the video game series I've ever played, I think Kingdom Hearts is the one video game series I've been the most attached to! And it's one that I've followed in terms of development very deeply, too! Like, in KHIII's instance, I've been following its development from the get go! So believe me, I know what you mean when you say it's crazy!

 

The only game I haven't played yet is KHX because I don't play mobile games.I didn't beaten KH3D because I don't have a 3DS and I never beat Recoded because I didn't like it.

I've played the first and second one, chain of memories, re:coded, 358/2, birth by sleep, and unchained x. I'm still currently waiting to catch up in unchained x and beat 358/2, waiting on DDD, 0.2, and back cover on the 2.8 collection to finally get caught up for III

If all versions of a game count as the same game, then yeah, I've played them all. (That's probably gonna change when 2.8 comes out.)

So yep, played each game, at leaste those available in NA, all the same year they released. Sometimes I even bought the consoles specifically for them.

 

Omg, I know! For every KH game, I've gotten its respective console, and I have the ReMixes too! I was even lucky enough to have Unchained X, mainly due to the fact that I was extremely lucky that I had an iPad with me a few years prior to this game releasing!

 

I have played all of them and I am still confused by the story...but the gameplay is fricking awesome!!

 

Lol, yeah, the story can be complicate, but it's an awesome story, nonetheless!  And you're right about that, the gameplay is sick!

I'm not counting Ux . I haven't played DDD and I only watched Days and Coded through cutscenes. Apart from those I've played everything else.

Indeed they do! The fact that each entry is so diverse and offers something different is what I think has helped the series keep relevancy for these past 15 years, ya know? It's awesome!

 

I've played them all. Originals and remixes included. I have not finished all of them though. I have no plans to finish unchained X due to personal reasons and I've yet to finish Re:Com. Have made many attempts to get through it but I always got lazy and quit. I'm actually working on it again now though just to say I did and cause I care about trophies way more than I thought.

Well, as long as you watched the cinematics, you should be good to go, but the game for DS is pretty darn good!

I have played KH1FM, KH2FM, Re chain of memories, BBSFM and 358/2days I only watched the cutscenes of Kh re coded and I am going to play DDD on the ps4.

I have personally beaten ALL the Kingdom Hearts games, and even helped my brother a lot during X [Chi], since we only wanted to use one JP account. 1, 2, Re:CoM (Both Sora & Riku), possibly even CoM on the GBA, Birth by Sleep, 358/2 Days, Re:Coded, 3D, and even one or two of the Final Mixes. I probably won't get to play 0.2, but my brother is hoping he will.

 

I may not pay attention to all the itty bitty "hidden but important" details, but I have enough experience and awareness to know the main story pretty well. And really, I am grateful that my brother got me into the series; it's taught me how serious life gets when you're basically fighting by yourself 75% of the time. ...And some friendship speeches and stuff, I guess.

I haven't beaten the HD versions of the games on the PS3 remixes despite getting them one year ago. Since I've gotten into a lot of turn based and strategic JRPGS lately I think I'll enjoy Re:COM a lot more since it seems a lot more strategic. I might end up playing it before March since the PS3 version is glitch free I believe.

If you can find the events of the cutscenes in an alternative form (I.E Youtube) then one can follow the story just as well without gameplay. SE themselves even established this by releasing the remixes of Days and Re: Coded in the form of just a compilation of their cutscenes. It's because of this that I know how Days ends despite not finishing the game and how I plan to find out the events of Re: Coded. The synopsis doesn't appeal to me enough to interest me in a playable version.
