We all know how Twilight Town is going to be the tutorial stage again, right? Well, my head canon for that (and possibly the most logical canon that Nomura would go with) is that after Sora reunites with his Spirits in Traverse Town, Sora heads to Twilight Town, says hi to his old friends there, and then heads back to Mysterious Tower via the train? And then the rest plays out like it did at the end of 0.2.

Makes a lot of sense when you really think about it. I can see some basic tutorial stuff in that world, and potentially the chance to see former Organization XIII members like Demyx, Luxord and Larxene. After all, Kairi and Lea are in Radiant Garden, and the flashback between Young Xehanort and Eraqus seems was confirmed to be in an original world.

Wow, makes sense. This sounds good. We'll see how it goes

Except the problem with that is that Nomura made 0.2 end the way it did so that Sora would just start out at Olympus Coliseum in KH3. The only way Twilight Town would work as a tutorial BEFORE Olympus without rewinding the clock at all is if the player was in control of a different character at the beginning for tutorial purposes. Kairi would make a much more logical choice, she's in the middle of training so it would feel more natural for her to be given the basics of what it means to jump, attack, use items, magic, etc, as opposed to Sora who has been given the same run-down on how to do things like 5 times already. Plus the Mysterious Tower can be connected to Twilight Town anyway, so there's already a sound justification for Kairi being there anyway, for actual training/testing of skills in the outside world (since she would have been training with Lea in the time-displacement-dimension thingy that Merlin and the Fairies made this whole time anyway). It would be very jarring for Nomura to write things so that Sora would already be ahead of the game, only to rewind him back to being behind the game anyway, not to mention redundant. He wouldn't have bothered with the Olympus tease if he wasn't going to start Sora off there.

KH2 had Roxas for its tutorial stage, KH3 doing something similar isn't that far-fetched

And I don't think Nomura mentioned anything about Sora being part of the tutorial stage (not that he needs to)

 

There's another possibility though, but it seems unlikely

All we know in 0.2 is that Sora is heading to Olympus Coliseum. We don't know if he actually makes it there without any complications. So something could have happened that forced them to Twilight Town and Nomura could have used that as an excuse to set it as the tutorial stage.

I'd be kinda pissed if that happened though. I mean Sora's heart is his guiding key and yet he ends up in the wrong world? Way to go, Sora. I mean I guess Roxas's heart could've led him there, but I would still not be amused. It just makes no sense for Sora to tease us that he'll go to Olympus coliseum if he goes to Twilight Town first. The entire 0.2 portion with him would be pointless then since all of it teases Olympus Coliseum.

 

I definitely love the Kairi idea and it makes sense, I can actually picture her making her way from Mysterious Tower through Twilight Town and then to Radiant Garden where the rest of her training takes place. Maybe Riku and Mickey will even "escort" her to make sure she ends up in Radiant Garden in one piece and then they'll depart to finally save Aqua.
