why does the genie have a keyblade?

maybe its because the genie was freed by aladdin and because of their loyal friendship the genie was chosen by the keyblade. (my opinion)

    Yup. But the characters of Aladdin and Kingdom Hearts have horrible imaginations, so they ask him to do stuff like 'Beat these heartless' and 'Make this sandstorm go away' and 'Fix Agrabah and make it exactly the same it was'
