and in the novel there is apparently a bit more about Player

but all i could find is a picture of their hand holding chirithy...

I think they mean that Player isn't one character in that it's an avatar that links the player to the game

Sure it has story centred experiences, but you can't make Player a fleshed out character simply because it would ruin the immersive aspect of it being the irl player's window into the game's world

Playerhas a high chance of not making it alive so he would just be an old memory

Giving a character like Player, a deeper story that gives away any of those traits ruins the initial point of the character. In which it is you, the player's way of being a part of the game's world. Like how Dark Souls 1 and 3 ensure the player's character is mysterious so you feel like you are more a part of the game's world

in dark souls the player is one of the dude lighting the fire (or not) he's part of the world history

it can be he or she

gender or appearance doesn't matter, it's the role you play

It does from a gameplay and immersion perspective

if Player does something that he's the only character in the entire game to do, then he's only one person

in KH4 we may hear Skuld talk about a powerful old friend

You can't give player an entire fleshed out story that would give away those details because the point is to have a character anyone can imagine themselves being

just choosing an appearance isn't the same as deciding your own story

I think you are forgetting exactly what details I spoke about

i just don't understand why Player can't be a single entity in the KH universe

if the scene i hypothetized about happens when someone plays, they will know she talks about them, not the other khux players

they won't show Player, or describe them, jsut aknowledge their existence

as one character not thousands

I would rather characters be connected to NPCs than our created character

like, if Player had a set appearance and you jsut chose the name, wouldn't it be the same ?

The issue is, if the player character becomes connected to a UX character that appears in future games, they’ve got to name it
