In simpler terms, why make all the effort to keep cross the rainbow till the end, if there is no gold at the end?

Or ever worse, what if there is gold, but it's just not enough?

That's pretty much why I have an issue for when people say "You overhyped it". Because this isn't your usual case of game release, this is an event, like you say

I wasn't around for it when it happened

of course people will be hyped, that isn't their fault

But I have no doubts being a KH fan from 2009 to 2017 was not easy

Luckily for me, I was kinda absent from the series for a good few years

2015 is where it kicked up again

I only became acquainted with the series in 2017

I've been waiting properly since 2012....

A month after I got my PS4, I bought the 1.5+2.5 collecting

And played the games a couple years before

I had it as easy as you could get

All the collections I could hold for, the internet to give me all the plot explanation I needed

I didn't have to put effort into being a fan

But you still put in the effort

But yet... I feel very similarly to those people

Well, I put a bit of effort

But I didn't need to buy another console just to keep up

Those are things that add up

So it is weird

It was incredibly common as well to be seen as a lesser fan for not playing all the games, which is crazy considering they were spread over five consoles

How come a fan that's been with the series since 2001 and another who's been with the series since 2017 feel almost the same way?
