I think it's always been a very popular viewpoint in the fandom to shit on terra

He is a tragic hero

Failing is literally part of his character

And he does make amends but alas by the end of BBS its all in vain

I honestly think it improves his character, by giving him flaws and such

All in vain? He literally rages through and lets his armor live so he can beat his own ass

No, but he gave Xehanort amnesia and delayed his plans

I don't think that was him tho, I think it was Xehanort who stabbed his heart

Terra did do one good thing

Nah, right after Aqua reached Radiant Garden and trying to help him, Xehanort was struggling to figure out who he is

He got possessed and that lead to Ansem being born

I like Terra, but unlike Riku, he got his body back at no cost

No cost?

I think that's rather odd to say

There was no long term affect on him like Riku

He did spend 12 years in a mental prison

What do you mean at no cost, he had to share a body with an old man for 10 years trying to fight his way out

Well tbf, we haven't seen the long term cost yet

KH3 has only just brought him back

Well that is the cost for getting possessed, not the cost of getting out of it

Like he really shouldn't look the same

Well the original body always comes back in one piece
