I think of it like this, once the door is open you can't go back. But once the portal is open in KH3 we can go back

But KH never really had that either tho? Just long segmented boss battles

you know, it takes you a full hour to beat KH2s final boss sequence

Well that's when you open the doors and in 3 it's when the fight triggers. I guess it's like a "soft" point of no return then

it takes roughly 15-20 in KH3

It went a hell of a lot faster than an hour for me

The real issue in my opinion is that Scala is so short. If it was a full world we could have had something in line with KH1 and 2
