ok let me change this I wouldn't mind Sephiroth if the boss has this time different mechanics. The only thing that Sephiroth got in KH2 was his air combo and the reaction command attack. The other mechanics were exactly the same as in KH1 which is lazy design

But for many people Liftea, they just wanted all these things in KH3 because we all knew the direction of this series was going away from KH1/2, and we wanted them to happen at least one last time.

I think we just didn't realise the direction was changing so soon

Sephiroth in 2 is at this point worse than Dark Inferno bc Dark Inferno was at least different

Like, Sephiroth and Cloud had a narrative going on, if Nomura actually wrote and ending to that and said "their story is over and we'll focus on other FF characters for bosses" that would be fine.

I dunno he has the same moves but the combat system means they are dealt with differently

But that's what stings the most, ignoring not only the FF characters but also their story

So when the CONCLUSION to the story arc doesn't feature their side of the narrative, it sends a message of "their story never mattered to begin with"
