The lack of ability to pull up the map with the touch pad button, which doesn't even have the eyeline feature the Final Mixes added to previous games had, is a big miss. Given how big some of the maps get, and how tricky it can be to get around (like the marshlands in Corona or the mountain in Arendelle) it would have been much appreciated.

Endless Cast, Cure Converter, element boosts, Wizard's Ruse, Full MP Blast, etc

that's also an issue for me jbmasta, especially as it's a function in DDD (which didn't even really need it)

Made it very interesting to synthesize items

But KH2 feels more grand and better paced overall so synthesis ties into progress much better

Synthesis in KH3 feels more like just neat add ons instead of a game changer

I never missed any abilities on him that equips gave

You get Magic Galvanizer and MP Thrift by level up for instance

Eh

If you could get every ability on Sora then equips would lose some importance and we'd be saying synthesis is even worse

So I'm not complaining

And this is coming from the guy who likes to complain about everything pain

Well, like I said, I didn't miss anything

I missed having Master Treasure Magnet but then I was very pleasantly surprised when I got it by A-Ranking Frozen Slider

In short I guess I don't get many of the KH3 synthesis criticisms, after my Crit playthrough I grew to like it a lot

It's not like it's bad

I just think it's a pretty vast downgrade after 2's

That synthesis menu is the stuff of nightmares

Ok, ignore the menu

I think that's honestly where I place the highest importance in a game, ease of access

Focus on the mechanics, variety and usability

Taking out moogle experience, as well as the halving of materials and everything was odd to me

I didn't miss the halving mechanic, however I did miss Moogle leveling

Honestly FF8 was almost unplayable to me almost entirely because of that hellish menuing system

They let you synthesize them without the Serenity Crystal anyway

It's a lot more like kh1 synthesis which is serviceable, but just not great

So I don't see the problem

Either way, it's just a minor gripe of mine, like the menus

Doesn't really ruin enjoyability for me

Personally, I prefer having a system where I can easily be able to get a handle on what I have done vs what I have left, moogle levels were a cherry that I don't need

Give me more progression indicators please

Hmm I think if I tried using synthesis as much as I did in KH2 it would have impacted my enjoyment, as it stands after I think corona, I couldn't stand looking at the menu anymore because of how terrible a sight it was. I dunno, it felt like a weight? Burden?

KH3 lacked a lot in the progression department, Sora already started the game fairly strong and by the end of Olympus he had most gameplay mechanics

Well, by that logic can I have all the + items unlocked to synthesize without having to grind for Serenity Crystals
