I've found out recently square has treated its VAs like utter shit

We all knew Hayden wasn't even approached

I feel so much remorse about that

But apparently neither was any of HPOs VAs. Sure the replacements sound fine, but that's still shady af

And if that wasn't bad enough

I was one of the people in the "it's going to be fine" train, and the game came out and it wasn't fine

Not a single FF7 va was told about voicing remake lines. They used them for the remake trailers

But then dropped them

The first time they found out they were fired was when the first voiced remake trailer came out

Alyson's voice is incredible airy and fragile sounding, doesn't fit well with KH3 Kairi's non-existent more resigned personality

That is awful behaviour

Doesn't fit well with Kairi full stop

While her voice work is great it doesn't fit the character imo

Seems like they changed VA's on FF7R when they worked on the game in-house

Still though, this is a really disturbing pattern of behaviour from square enix

And it's been happening all within the past two years

It's actually a very stark contrast to Japan where seiyuus are treated like celebrities

I dont think it's quite about that

Although yeah there would be riots if the fired their ff7 cast

I'm not saying it's about that, I'm just saying it's a difference in cultural behavior

There's been a huge outpouring of outrage against the Western decision

Ah yeah

When did they records their lines, cause if it was around 2017 then it could have been because of the voice actors strike
