I think as well as why MoM isn't super a bad guy ™️ he just knows things can't be changed so why not just accept them until the point you no longer know the future

I feel like that sort of mirrors the convo with YX tho where he's just like, 'Well why not just leave darkness to it's own devices then"

He says so himself when he's talking to Ira
"We have to focus on what comes after. There's no use thinking of ways to change events that we know are gonna happen."

That quote might be back to front in my screens LMAO but it works either way around

well after the current keyblade war, but not the end of the world where he cant see past

like maybe he knows what's going to happen

but he doesn't know who's going to win the conflicts

or he knows all the branching paths

and is trying to guide it towards the unknown

like he's made many books of prophecies, and how he guides what will happen is by which one he gives to the apprentices

Oh god that reminds me of that episode in Midnight Gospel where that one guy has to die over and over again until he finally finds the correct route of being good that breaks him out of the loop

I think I've seen that form of paradox explored before where someone is made to repeatedly repeat the same part of life over and over and over again until they find the way to break out of it LMAO

I think there's a vocaloid song that explores it too

Hang on let me read up again but I do think I saw somewhere mentioned that the Book of Prophecies includes different routes

here's a little theory
the keyblade war of MoM's time ended with unlocking KH
in doing so, MoM became one with the light
and within that time loop, he was never able to reincarnate into the next loop of the world like all the others, because light is eternal

I might be hallucinating it though at this point I've read, watched and played so much KH these past few days

so he makes it his purpose to break that loop

Okay I did read it but it's a wiki and seems to contradict other things so I'll take it with a grain of salt
"The Book of Prophecies, as expected of its name, contains all of the futures foresaw by the Master of Masters, with one of them being the final page and the other called the Lost Page containing information on the instigation of the Keyblade War"
Futures also could just mean one future but written weirdly

i think itd be kinda cool if sora died with the note of like
MoM: "Sorry, kid. There just isn't room for you in the new world" and then sora wants to live and ends up becoming a villain in a way

Rather than multiple outcomes of future

Wikis are always subject to being mistyped or explained badly

I did read on one wiki that when Zexion summons a soul eater it has a pink eye rather than blue but when I watched all the clips I couldn't see any point it becomes pink and there was no explanation of when that's supposed to happen ?

If anyone knows how a wiki creator came up with that or if they know where the evidence is I would be curious

The “futures” part kinda makes sense because he saw Maleficent attempting to change the future and trapped her because of it. So who knows how much MoM manipulated events to go in his favor if he noticed things changing in a way he didn’t like. :O

I mean im sure theres some frustration to be had behind the idea of "No it wasn't xehanort behind everything, actually it was MoM!" But tbh I'd rather that than the villain just coming out of nowhere and being a villain

Same tbh ?

From when I was fine combing everything it sounded like MoM is kind of like
He wants to see what happens after darkness defeats the light and the world is destroyed because he honestly has no idea
But at the same time he sounds hella tired with the fact he can't change the future

he just mentions it to people like "Welp guess we're all stuck with this future then better accept it ? "

Though I did think for a while if Luxu will change the future if he opens the box himself

It does have pandora's box vibes

A future that seems so carefully crafted by MoM tho. So of course he’s gonna want people to believe there’s nothing they can do to change things. :O
Maybe I’m looking at it wrong tho?

As well as the foretellers having the latin names for the seven deadly sins too ?

MoM’s sin is apparently pride ?

Honestly everything is so open ended

Yeah he makes a point to include himself in the number of foretellers and pride is the only sin that a character isn't named after

Yee ? and pride being Lucifer, who was a light bearer, also ties into MoM’s character

Though someone also pointed out vanity is a sin closely tied to pride
and Vanitas is the latin word for vanity

Ooo. True

MoM did mention the darkness took a form of a human during the keyblade war

I need to find exactly where I read that LMAO but I know it def happened somewhere

I remember that too!! It was somewhere in UX ? I think
