I really dislike when games open like that

Well Ama, there are people that are more character oriented, so if they don't have context to connect with the characters there are no stakes and therefore it gets boring

Because they act like I'm supposed to care

It's why many people have problems with stories that open with straight up action

I have nothing to say except any child can learn maths to at least calculus level by around 16 if they are well supported

And the paralogues and support episodes. It all just felt bland and rushed to me
