The PS3 does have good games I'm not disputing that, but imo it feels to me like there was just so little variety in comparison to PS2

That's because the PS2 era was easier to develop for

Fifa 15 was still selling on PS2

don't forget that for the 360/ps3 era, there was a lot of developers shifting from SD to HD console developement

PS3 and 360 era was affected by the switch to HD + the PS3 having that really bizarre architecture

Oh, and lots and lots of experimenting with physics, lightning

There's only like.. a few I can name that stood out for FPS during the 360/ps3 era

Go to a used game store and few of the titles you see on a PS3 section are uninspiring
