we have a bot in another server that im in that does custom join and leave messages based on the inside jokes that have accumulated in the server itself

I use the features as well.

I even have it set on my self-hosted Nadeko bot.

It makes logging a cinch.

But in more than one case, new members are restricted from certain things like commenting in many regular channels unless/until they are verified and vetted w/ a basic role.
