at some point I just learned to watch and like what I want but I do understand what you mean

Sometimes though, I did fall into the mob mentality I'd think a show is bad cause a lot of people called it bad even if I may have liked it

it even happened for a while with kingdom hearts

but yeah you just stop giving a shit eventually xD

in kingdom hearts I just didn't know what was my own opinion, at some point

the same happened with me for the Trails games, my favorite series behind KH. You really have to learn how to assert individuality and not give a shit

because people really don't care in the long run

yeah exactly

Even though it took a while, I'm glad I was able to get out of the mob mentality and stick to my own opinions

reason it's so hard I think, is because many people think of their opinions as fact or assert their opinions so much to the point where you start to doubt yourself if you aren't familiar with that whole climate

that's kind of what happened to me with kingdom hearts

After I finished kh3 I was super happy, I loved the game called it my favorite kingdom hearts game

after interacting with the community for a while post kh3-release I was seeing a lot of negativity and slowly I dipped into it and started to dislike kh3 myself

until I realized how stupid that was

eventually I realized it's not true

and there's a reason why I felt the way I felt after the game

yeah

but then I began to realize that I was just taking other people's opinions as my own

yeah that's exactly what happened to me

It was a feeling of

"I'm ashamed to say I like this game cause I'm afraid other people will harass me for liking it"

Even though it's not true I know people wouldnt do that esp here

(on twitter's a different story xD)

same reason for turning away and anime, for me at least. It's a desperation to be acknowledged and respected

yeah, I understand what you mean

I guess it's a good thing I don't interact with anime communities xD

anime centric communities are pain

no matter how great they appear at first, there's always an elitism that stems out at some point

it's why I think generalized communities are better than specific, focused ones

overall though the experience was really good with kingdom hearts I came out of it very open to criticism and with a clear idea as to why kh3 is my favorite game in the series

yeah I get you

Yeah, the same with me. I can now acknowledge 3's faults that I see as objective but still love it
