freerealestate hopefully I'll be fine tho, I hope it doesn't escalate

Wait, really?

I understand holding off a year, but many years?

It's called the vault

No really, they had it in the vhs/early dvd era

laughsinnomura

That damn film gets trotted out so many times on TV, if you haven't recorded it onto a dvd/vhs/usb by now it's ur own fault

That's the only film I'll have this attitude towards

sorasurprised

I have some old tv recordings of disney channel but nothing else really, I was never too fussed about rewatching things like that

Yeah I have zero idea why that's a thing now

Like I dont see any logic

Where is it

:byeshy:

Meme?

Bollywood emotes

As in why do CN/Disney/nick seem hell bent on airing episodes out of order

I mean spongebob I get

But even for first runs of a season, they don't run episodes properly

Remember when cartoons were prohibited from acknowledging the fourth wall

Seems so long ago

Well, I should specify nicktoons

I was gonna say

Seriously?

Ew

I dont think it was always like this though, I mean I remember watching things in order on toon disney

And the english channels don't really ever do the out of order thing at all

Jea saw that recently on an episode with theseriousmrenter. Today everything is a fourth wall break

It was probably on his Angry Beavers review, interestingly enough

And yes, today I think many cartoons are relying too much on fourth wall breaks and self awareness

Self awareness is a tool to be used, not the be all end all of comedy

It's like marvel movies and their comedy

Well, that's different

Can't have a serious moment at all

Marvel comedy is mostly character based, there are no fourth wall breaks. Some jokes hit, others don't.

Yeah it's not fourth wall breaks but there's a lot of leaning on it and being like "LOL we don't actually want to be serious here"

I don't see it that way

There are of course many bad jokes

I'm not saying be grimdark but there's almost never any sincerity, to me anyway

Like the infamous "cream cheese" joke

But there are many examples of dramatic moments that are not undercut by comedy

For instance the final fight in Civil War

I guess

I suppose I haven't watched enough or marvel to judge

It's ok to not like the comedy, of course

I suppose I haven't watched enough of marvel to judge
