He's not in Boom and his appareance in Forces is unexplained unless you read the comics

You could switch him with Bean or Mighty or Fang from Triple Trouble and nothing would change

Though to be fair that applies to a lot of characters in Forces

Sonic Team listens to feedback by always going into the extreme direction of what the fans ask for

Knuckles is too much of a jock and too braindead, so now we make him the leader of the Resistance for no reason and take away from him some major personality quirks like his occasional denseness and duty drive

ooh Shadow does look awesome in the renders and cg cutscenes for his game. Imo they're the best in the series

i remember watching TheGreatClement's LP of Sonic forces and he ripped into knuckles for making a plan that wiped out 98% of their forces
