Funimation even announced in october they would be releasing the next arcs dub "soon"

and its been 5 months.....

Basically the anime is slower paced than manga, so eventually we'll have an episode that will cover the same content as the manga of the same number

I.e. episode 1000 will cover chapter 1000

Oda can't work on both the anime and manga simultaneously

i feel like that one piece live action series cant be good

Like, the manga is ~50 chapters ahead

buying so many mangas would cost a pretty major penny

But the anime is slower paced and covers less than a full chapter, so eventually we'll have parity between episode and chapter being adapted, not chapter and episode coming out at the same time
