Even then when the menu is open time still stops in FF7R

Right, which is where the turn based aspect comes in

The game is more action game, sprinkled with turn based

It's mildly more action oriented than regular turn based rpgs, but to me it's almost exactly the same as ff12 and that's regarded as turn based

So imo, FF7R is turn based too. The marketing is just clever

> The game is more action game, sprinkled with turn based
I honestly think its the opposite, the action is sprinkled on because there's so little of it

It’s funny to see you saying all this, meanwhile I keep seeing a video recommended to me called something like “I was worried about this” and the thumbnail is like “turned based is DeAd

?

pain

FF12 markets the gambit system more with how you play it, which is why people think it's more turn based

Literally my first thought was we’ve known this game was more action oriented for... how many years now?

Yeah I think people are too blinded by marketing

There are people who are saying ITS LIKE KH

its not...

And people who're saying TURN BASED IS DEAD

it's really not....

If anything it's more revitalised than ever. I think FF7R should be the template for future turn based games.

to me it's literally kh but you can't jump on demand, so it's action

And then I see people saying it’s not had false marketing yet there is not a single hint in any of the marketing as far as I’m aware that it’s like, never been prefaced we have a “part one” on our hands

There's a tiny line on the back of the cover that says it covers the Midgard portion

I am not joking, this is real

Yeah I imagined there was

> to me it's literally kh but you can't jump on demand, so it's action
See I can't see that personally, because action and KH specifically means more to me than just combat. Platforming and exploration are equal parts imo

But still outside of interviews, if some were to just watch the trailers, could they even know?

> A spectacular re-imagining of one of the most visionary games ever, the first game in this project will be set in the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience.

Definitely not, Slash

Yeah if people were to only watch trailers it wouldn't be obvious

But then again people who only see the trailers are probably new to the game

That’s just beyond odd to me

If someone doesn't know it covers only midgar at this point, they shouldn't even be aware there exist something after midgar

I am curious how they are naming the next game

Will it just be FF7R-2
