See, I am the opposite. The moment I think there's a God out there, I dwell on those stuff too much

Because that's when everything goes wrong, how can you argue for objective morality without God

Half the stuff is complete nonsene to me in every way

I took a criminal law class one year and it was mad interesting

I wrote a paper about a case that I forgot what it was, it was like the fruit from the poisonous tree or something clause or whatever it is

Essentially, some cops, with no warrant, entered a woman's home without consent in search of a terrorist. Within her home, they found illegal material, really just porno books cause that was illegal or something at the time so I had to write a paper on whether or not the cops were justified or not

obv they werent

don't do to other what you don't want them to do to you, don't need god for this

That's why I never argue for objective morality, things can go downhill insanely fast

Ah, the Golden Rule

Morality is always subjective

There's no way for it to be objective

It's very interesting, but it breaks down sometimes

Killing one person to save 10 people is still a subjective moral

If the Negative Golden Rule applies (don't do to others what you don't want to be done to you), does the positive one also apply (do to others what they do to you)?

Absolutely not

Positive Golden Rule could be used to justify self-defense, but then you have the can of worms that is the death penalty

From the perspective of my own beliefs and education, I've decided that there is a Deity, A God, that created existence. After that, I believe that free will was allowed on every organism that is capable of thought. Why would God make a world where everyone is just 100% perfection all the time? I don't think that makes sense.

If someone stole from, I wouldn't go around stealing from someone else

hmm

the last time I treated somebody the way I wanted to be treated I was sued for sexual harrassment ?

Yeah Otti, that's where it becomes problematic

Which is where the subjective part of the Golden Rule comes in

if i get killed i sure would like to kill the guy responsible

but if everyone go about the "negative rule" there is no need for the "positive" one

what if they had a really cool backstory and motivation for killing you
